WASHINGTON – With oral arguments set to begin in AFGE v. Trump in exactly seven days, the nation’s largest federal union is announcing #RedforFeds day on July 25 to protest President Trump’s illegal, union-busting executive orders.
“A little under two months ago, President Trump tried to sneak through three executive orders that undermine our democracy,” said American Federation of Government Employees National President J. David Cox Sr. “These orders are a direct assault on our apolitical civil service system and are nothing but thinly veiled attempts at busting unions and rolling back workplace rights across the country,” he added.
On Friday, May 25, the administration announced three executive orders that chip away at due process and collective bargaining rights for federal employees and impede employee representation at the job site. AFGE immediately called the orders “a direct assault on the legal rights and protections that Congress has specifically guaranteed to the 2 million public-sector employees across the country who work for the federal government.”
Within three business days of issuance of the orders, AFGE filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. That suit has since been joined with several other unions, an amicus brief from Congressional leaders protesting the President’s decision, as well as support from lawmakers speaking out and writing to Trump.

AFGE should be disbanded. There should be NO government labor unions, period.
How long before the protesters realize that they are simply being tuned out? And when their next slate of candidates lose, what are they going to do then?

There is far too little regulation of "labor relations" in state and local governments. Union goons are directly lobbying and corrupting county supervisors and city council members with telephone solicitors, sneaky "in-kind" and gross cash contributions.
Up to now forced contributions have been sucked from employees paychecks to grease the skids like crazy for the Demonicrat Party causes and mostly working against the will of the governed!!!

Far too many elected reps have turned into neutered parasites going along to get along and giving up their core principles due to pressure from the manipulative media!!!
I disagree somewhat. I think the AFGE serves a valuable purpose. They have designated large swaths of civil service jobs that should be converted to contract employment. If the union is so convinced that it gives the taxpayer the best bang for the buck, let them compete for contracts in the open market against non-union contractors.

If I’m not mistaken, back in the day President Reagan busted unions when he fired a bunch of control tower folks for going out on strike. And, he won. The result was a weakening of unions throughout the nation.
So, are the ‘ afscme’ gonna join in? Commonly called ‘ afscume’.
It is a dysfunctional relationship. No one is representing the taxpayer at the bargaining table. The govt officials are supposed to be, but they are being paid by the unions. So the taxpayer is not even in the equation.
Imagine factory managers negotiating with a union and the union is paying them. That factory will not be around for long.
