I dislike the word “capitalism.” Its a highly-loaded word, which, I believe, was first created by Marx himself.

How about simply using the word “Freedom?”

I think people would more readily see the common ground I think many of us would have if we said “appropriation of money from citizens by their government” instead of saying ‘taxation’, ‘fees’, or ‘tariffs’ because ALL of those things can be abused (and are) to take our wealth.

Just my two cents

I am convinced that is deliberate on the part of the dims as part of changing words to cloud issues.

The most blatant thing they have done is illegal alien>undocumented>immigrant which clouds the issue between legal and illegal immigrants and makes it easy to claim those against illegal aliens are against immigration and are racists.

Changing the term for our government also clouds the issue of what our form of government is, and notice they not only insist on calling it a democracy, they also want to leave out the Constitution.

"...Changing the term for our government also clouds the issue..."

It is simply what Leftists do.

The entire premise of Hayek's The Road To Serfdom"

embraces EXACTLY the premise that socialism is slavery. Capitalism cannot be slavery. In a capitalistic society, people have the freedom to start their own business enterprises, or enter into contracts with people that spell out the value of their labor. If someone thinks they are undervalued, they are free to go somewhere else (or start their own business). Socialism prohibits this activity.

Socialism is slavery, and abused capitalism can be.

Capitalism - the only economic system compatible with INDIVIDUAL rights.

The South's theoretician of slavery, George Fitzhugh, admitted that Socialism is slavery. This man was a slave owner himself during the antebellum days.

Excellent point!

The millenials think that capitalism(free market, free enterprise) and socialism is just a choice between economic systems.

The idea of freedom and risk/reward is never mentioned.

The last thing you want to be is a line item on a government ledger.

As a child the most frustrating thing is you cannot do what you want. Your parents are always telling what to do. Imagine living like that as an adult. That’s socialism.

Some nameless faceless bureaucrat is always telling what to do and you cannot do what you want.

Freedom works. I also use free markets, free enterprise.
It brings the question of freedom into the conversation.

Socialists like to pretend it is simply a choice of economic systems without mentioning freedom.

Chavez offered them a worm on a hook and they bit hard.

Now they have changed their mind. But there is no exit from socialism without spilling a lot of blood.

The best book I can recommend is P.J. O’Rourke’s “Eat the Rich”

Capitalism is a voluntary practice entered into freely between two or more individuals. Socialism is forced participation.

It was pro-slavery writer Henry Hughes that really put together the Dimocrat playbook in 1854 in his book “Treatise on Sociology”. His “Law of Warranteeism” has been used masterfully by the Dims to this day to enslave through the welfare state.

All socio-economic systems suck. Capitalism sucks the least.
