He should get a good attorney and sue them for violating his First Amendment rights.
Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner! As a school accepting both federal and state dollars, how does this escalate into the domain where the school can regulate or punish a prospective student for speech made off campus (and certainly unrelated to their academic track.)
I imagine the early damage request could be the value of the scholarship, the damage done to his name for this targeting, and a fair amount of future income that is likely lost because of the actions of the university.
