I think the reason the rats are throwing such a fit and saying increasingly stupid stuff is yes some are guilty and scared but others are jockeying for power. The dims don’t have a clear leader at this point, many don’t like Hillary- the younger lefties want Hillary, Pelosi, Schumer & Company to hand the reins over to young radicals. The crowd Bernie fired up wants a shot at it, hard left turn even from what it is.
The only thing the dims agree on strongly at this point is they want to get rid of President Trump. The money people are not thrilled enough with the young radicals to open their wallets for them. So some of this, I think a lot of this is them screaming ME while saying outrageous things hoping they will be noticed.
I think the idea that as they get more outrageous they are moving this country closer to widespread political violence escapes them. My husband asked a liberal a while back if they want a Civil War...he laughed and said that would NEVER happen. Zero chance according to him. Preposterous...that is what they think. They think there is NO tipping point, no limit on what they can say or do.
