Public unions must be outlawed. The taxpayer is NOT represented.

This decision was the correct one. Now we just need the Supreme court to make the right decision on obama care and rule that it is also Unconstitutional.

We can not be forced through law to buy insurance just like we can not be forced to buy collective representation by a union.

Without being a jerk about it, the bishop is pointing out the tendency of the US conference’s leadership to ignore the details of Catholic teaching on social issues in their public pronouncements.

Well done.

I’ve always been aggravated that on immigration, they never seem to deal with the inconvenient portion of paragraph 2241 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church:

“Political authorities, for the sake of the common good for which they are responsible, may make the exercise of the right to immigrate subject to various juridical conditions, especially with regard to the immigrants’ duties toward their country of adoption. Immigrants are obliged to respect with gratitude the material and spiritual heritage of the country that receives them, to obey its laws and to assist in carrying civic burdens.”

Immigrants are obliged to obey US laws, including immigration laws. No ifs, ands, or buts.
