The good news -— there will be plenty of votes to confirm Kavanaugh. The bad news -— it may get those red state dems re-elected.
I don’t see it that way. Few, if any, votes will be gained by Rats voting to confirm, where many will be lost by voting not to. He is stuck. And Trump hasn’t even started campaigning in the Ohio, Pennsylvania, WV nexus.
It MAY get red state democrats reelected if they vote for Kavanagh.
Then again they may lose dem votes even if they gain rep votes. So it may not help. And it may not hurt.
It’s an unknown result, really.
