THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK
JEROME KERN
HIGH, WIDE AND HANDSOME: THE FOLKS WHO LIVE ON THE HILL
Thomas Hampson spent decades in Germany, working in opera, Bach cantatas and lieder. He was there so long that he almost lost the use of English. Back in America, he worked with Broadway tunes and with Jay Unger on a Stephen Foster project. This is a wonderful version that uses the original intro and brings out the beauty of the melody.
