Three teen baby-sitters heard laughing in the background of a Snapchat video that allegedly shows them terrorizing a 1-year-old with a Taser have all been arrested.
Elyssia Watkins brought her toddler to Conway Regional Medical Center after the troubling video surfaced online Monday. Her daughter was not injured, but she still reported the alleged abuse, sharing the clip with officer Brittani Little the same day.
The video appeared to depict three female teens laughing hysterically while taunting the baby girl with a taser, which caused the child to scream and sob in uncontrollable fear, according to a press release from the Conway Police Department. It continued on, showing the teens joking and laughing when one of them forcefully struck the child in the head.
Watkins told authorities the girls featured in the Snapchat clip had been baby-sitting her daughter at the time and that she was unaware of the alleged abuse prior to seeing the video.
All three of them were quickly arrested on the felony charge of endangering the welfare of a minor in the first-degree and were being held at the Faulkner County Juvenile Detention Center, authorities said.
Watkins, meanwhile, is still struggling to comprehend what happened to her little girl.
I couldnt even stay at work today, just keep thinking about it, she told WFLA.
Why do they think its a laughing matter? They do need to go to jail, but I hope somebody really talks to them, they get some counseling.
Happily, it’s been a good while since I visited DU.
I always know what I will find there, and some manage to excrete their horseclinton here.
You don’t know that. They may have made the taser spark by pressing it against something.
Yes, you are right there.
felony charge of endangering the welfare of a minor in the first-degree
Nothing of what they did seriously endangered the toddler.
Scaring her with a stun gun (not a Taser), slapping her, but not a full out blow, just does not rise to the level of a felony, IMHO.
Misdemeanor is as far as I would go.
I predict that is where it will end up.
If they would have held her over a balcony, or thrown her into a lake, or lured her into traffic, that would fit.
The world is going crazy.
This is nasty bullying. Many would call it hard core teasing.
Perhaps those who are calling for heads to roll can explain how this was felony endangerment.
This is what a culture obsessed with abortion rights produces.
What a moronic thing to say. You shoot 50,000 volts into a toddler's body and see what her reaction would be.
Questions that maybe a “journalist” could answer:
Why did these “teens” have access to the baby? Was it left in their care, or was a “responsible” third person supposedly watching the child?
Who owned the taser? How did the “teens” come to have it?
Why was a 1 year old terrified of the taser, unless there had been a DEMONstration?
babies skulls are soft and very vulnerable. Have the tormentors be charged with felony assault or attempted manslaughter?
Opps - first question answered in the article. The mother placed her baby n their care. Next time make sure the baby-sitters aren’t criminal scum.
You didn’t read the article did you?
do, not due. sheesh.’
well, they’re due to do it...btw, do I need to look...?
3 potential future abortion butchers, in my opinion. Abe Lincoln said when he heard anyone take a pro-slavery position, he wanted to let that person EXPERIENCE slavery for themselves. By the same token; If these 3 youts were each tazed a few times, it might prove to be very instructive to them.
People are basically crappy and they need supervision, especially when they are young. Some parents are great about this some parents are not. In this case I think these three needs to understand (in no uncertain terms) that they could just as easily be on the losing end of a pack of evil people as this little 1-year-old was.
Poor kid. I hope she’s ok and has no memory of this when she gets older.
There’s a great idea. Let them get a taste of abuse.
Do you have any children?
I see a lot more abuse in this than you do and others who posted that the child will forget this over time, to you I can only say I pray that is true but I know from experience and research it more likely will not
As to the tasing, the only reason the child is so scared is obviously they used it on them off camera and then were so turned on they did it again without direct contact. Why I say this is simple, flashing and sound are not inherently scary to the child unless they associate it with the memory of being zapped previously and the mere sound evokes a terrified response
I think the teens should be tased and see how they like it, but it exposes more from their behaviors including slapping the child in the head which is not acceptable. What was she doing, being upset as her hair was brushed and pulled in pain? The person slapping her was obviously repeating what she had seen or experienced in her own life and it is pure evil to do so
Let me guess. Obamas kids?
Feral youths, why am I not shocked or surprised?
Tased? They should be beaten to pulp.
Yes, I have children.
The idea that a 1 year old toddler will remember this is remote.
This is abuse. It should be prevented, but the hysterical level of punishment that is being called for is beyond any reasonableness.
Calling for these teens to be killed, because they did not have the sense or empathy to treat this toddler better is insane.
Children are wild animals that have to be tamed. The teens obviously need more taming, and more discipline.
But death, feeding to wild animals, or sexual slavery for this sort of abuse is crazy.
Consider if one of those teens were your child.
In a broad sense, these type of subhumans are no good for the country’s well being. They will be parasites and wards of society and certainly will never vote conservative if they even bother to vote at all. These are the ready made trash people who do liberals dirty work such as joining Antifa.
