It is time for you to step down with dignity and grace and allow the Arizona Governor Doug Ducey to appoint your replacement.
You are 82 years old, you have spent 36 years in Washington DC and 23 years in the Navy (27 if you include the four years at the Naval Academy) -- You have earned to the right go out on your terms, certainly, but the party and your country needs your selfless commitment and devotion one last time.
We are all aware that the seat you are vacating was once filled by another giant of the Republican party, Senator Goldwater, and we are all aware, Senator Goldwater was instrumental in creating the U.S. Air Force Academy, how fitting would it be for a Naval Aviator to step down and allow the Arizona Governor to fill your seat with a female graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, Congresswoman Martha McSally, that would be a legacy worthy of your name and Senator Goldwater name.
Let's do this, it's time, Shipmate you stand relieved.. we have the watch.

Even if he saw it printed in this summer’s Reef Points he wouldn’t budge. But beautifully written.
I think what keeps McCain holding on is a dream of being pushed in a wheelchair onto the Senate floor to cast one more vote, all to the thunderous applause of all the other Senators.

Ducey and the McTraitors are running out the clock until the Az Primary. He knows if he appoints Cindy it could hurt him. So when Ducey wins the Primary he will appoint Cindy.
