Yes, it is a popular cave. Apparently there’s an area where people go to write their names on the walls which is what the boys were going to do with their coach. It was a “school field trip” I’ve also read, so coach wasn’t “dumb”, just caught up in a bad circumstance that day.
“Am wondering if they got confused after a day or two on which direction was OUT and went deeper into the cave then they intended.”
I never considered that, but it would be easy to do in the dark. I am also assuming it would be totally dark in there after a few yards.
According to The Guardian who has folks near the scene/in view of it...the 6 & 7th boys just left in ambulance and the 8th is on his way. Great news!!!
Basic instinct for people is to protect children even children that are not yours. ..."
You just defined a fundamental tenet of conservatism!
Only one?
If the kids hadn’t been soccer players, I bet they would have been in much worse condition. How many miles do kids travel in one game of soccer?
Sounds like a flash flood.
I think that, when the movie is made, the coach will come out looking good. This is a great story of survival, adventure, tragedy, ingenuity, suspense, heroism, and probably a normal happy day turning into an epic event. And then you have the family element. The right talent could make an outstanding movie of this.
The article says what? Something about freeper tradition?
Can you keep your posts shorter in the future?!
More elements that add to the movie value: the brotherhood/team aspect, the soccer element that appeals to world soccer fans, and the Apollo 13-like rescue effort, including the Space X rocket scientists.
Will the coach and kids get paid for the movie rights? Will they get to be in it? Is, “Ka-ching” a Thai word?!
Osotthanakorn said the boys were hungry and asking for a Thai
dish of beef with basil and chilli.
“This morning they said they are hungry, and they wanted phad
kra pao,” he said. “We have to quarantine them for a little
while due to fear of infection.”
Well OK, 2.
They did it without Elon Musk’s crazy idea? Really?

Just got a notice the eighth was out. Taking a break to get final group
An article I read last night said the coach was in the worse shape because he had given food and water to the team and not himself It was speculated that he was out.
Whether the rescuers believe in some sketchy god, or no god, I believe their willingness to risk their lives for others, in such extreme circumstances, shows that their souls are "In the Light" --- the one described in the first chapter of John's Gospel. They may not know the name of Jesus Christ, but they do know and follow the Light.
St. Paul says "the love of Christ impels me." Whether they know it or not, they are servants of the Holy Spirit, Who is the Lord and Giver of Life.

I read somewhere that the Talmud says it’s a father’s duty to do two things for his son: make sure he can earn a suitable livelihood, and make sure he find a suitable wife. And some commentators add a third: teach him to swim.
We still have a certain amount of innate decency, that Imago Dei --- which conquers --- sometimes --- our innate selfishness.
I wonder why they couldn’t bring oxygen to the boys. Even one tank would help
I don’t believe they’re in any danger. Depends on the size of their chamber. The fact that they’re monitoring the oxy levels means they’ll come to no harm in that respect (contingency plan).
The fool’s errand which was Musk’s crazy, headline-grabbing BS assumed the cave was airtight.
