I’m so impressed with these young boys. Swimming a mile underwater even with a Navy Seal type Diver right with you has to be a scary experience for these young boys.

Its not the swimming. Its the tiny dark passages, esp. while swimming. IM not claustrophobic but small cave passages give me the Heebie-jeebies.
AFAIK there are respites in swimming there. But still its a tight vein.

There is an anesthesiologist from Australia there. Has been talk about drugs. Even anesthesia. We may never know what really happened.

Maybe the seals are doing the swimming....and the boys are hitching a ride....it would be a daunting task for a young nonswimmer. Non diver...non spelunker to do on their own....not to mention the possibility of panic or disorientation of the young men...may God give them all strength and composure.
