From chamber three they can walk the rest of the way out...
Thats what I want to know.
I KNOW that they backed in because of waters, BUT that doesnt answer why they went in so far of a tiny cave, including they HAVE to have gone down and thru that tiny deepest passage to get that far! Nuts!
I dont care that theyve been in it before. If it is that much work to go back just to carve your name, youre going too far and/or doing too much work. Very bad ROI.
They were the ones who found the boys & are now leading the rescue mission.
Ok, thanks. Just wondered if any here might have insight or similar cave diving experience and could comment.
Elon Musk was testing a rescue capsule in a pool in Ca today, and sucking up all the credit for the rescues... even though I don’t think he’s actually involved.
AMEN!
Good info.
Thanks
You piggy back off the regulator valve of the guy in front of you, It’s like a quick disconnect air valve.
On the submarine the have non skid on the decks, so when there is zero visibility in a fire, you put on the emergency breathing mask and you shuffle down the passageway piggybacked on the regulator of the guy in front of you, mind you there is no O2 till the front man hits the non skid on the deck, reaches for the panel above him that he cant see and plugs in...
Yall get a breath and move on.. Lather rinse repeat.. then you put out the damn fire!
I cannot even begin to fathom.
Just walking into a cave like that beyond the light is more than I can fathom.
I’ve been in two caves in my life and they were commercial operations.
One was Luray Caverns and the other was Carlsbad.
NOTHING like that.
Elon had his crew there but the rescue capsule wasn’t completed before the rescue teams decided to begin the operation to get them out.
The coach deserves Massive Respect for his Resilience....
He did not eat for days to keep the boys alive because he was aware of food shortage. Also kept the boys calm via meditation....coach was a former monk.
Elons rescue capsule?
Homer Hickam saved many with his.
Wow impressive!!!
Great job for the Thai Navy Seals. Did not know they had them too?
Gotta be fearless.
I was in an abandoned mine once...100 ft drops (air shafts).(no barriers to those shafts)..posts holding up fallen roofs...5 guys 4 flashlights...i didnt have one...the leader...suggested all lights out...talk about dark and cold...like being buried alive.....i told the leader....
I am outta here..No body knew we were there...if we had succumbed to mine gases or earthquake or whatever...no one would have found us for weeks or months..leader (i think was near psychotic...or manic..or very strange...(said things or behaved in a way that was off kilter)...friend of a friend...never again for me)
Holly crap that is crazy!
Great job for everyone involved!
My only question is how did they get in that spot to start with?
This would make a good movie.
He needs to make it out of the caves first.
I’m wondering how and why they were down there?
Volunteer who is helping in the Rescue has stated:
“It is normal for the rural boys to visit the cave. It is their way of life. If they live in the city, they might go to shopping malls instead.”
Gotta be in the genes AND upbringing AND training. Glad you survived.
A volunteer stated....”It is normal for the rural boys to visit the cave. It is their way of life. If they live in the city, they might go to shopping malls instead.”
Appears that flood waters caused the retreat further into the caves.
