He’ll be offered a deal to get easy treatment on the real charges if he’ll lie about the charges they’re cooking up on Trump. Standard procedure for crooked cops.

For those curious, Trump can't commute a sentence that the accused hasn't received, and a pardon before the trial, artfully delayed by Mueller's team, is an instant charge of Obstruction of Justice against Trump. Those stories are already written and ready to be filed. The anti-Trump media think this is funny.
It's a good example of just exactly what treatment any of us is likely to receive at the hands of our own government, with our political enemies cheering them on. Anyone who still can complain that politics is no longer "civil" probably hasn't been paying attention.
You need to add they do this to intimidate anyone else thinking about helping someone else challenge the establishment.
At least Trump is President, which was helpful to Scoter Libby unlike the prior Republican President who was fond of reaching across the aisle and not criticizing Democrats.

At what point, Mr. President, as you actually going to pick up a shovel and remove some of those human garbage that act like a cancer in our Government? Political prisoners in America? WTF? For “repeatedly contacting potential witnesses” — WTF? And what’s THAT mean, anyone Manafort’s ever known who Mueller might decide is a “potential witness?” This thing stinks to high heaven and President Trump needs to do something about it because obviously these people are just going to continue being little brown-shirt thugs because NO ONE is standing in their way - particularly that useless !@(#* Sessions.
