We have exchanged “liberty”, which is endowed by our Creator, for “freedom”, which is guaranteed by an act of government. Liberty deals with just vs unjust, freedom with legal vs illegal. Thus, liberty may say something is unjust yet government may declare it legal (I’m sure many examples come to mind!).
I believe we need to re-discover the principles of liberty.

Understanding of TToE is not a political concept and there is no scientific term “Darwanism.”

That term is used by people who either will not or cannot understand TToE.

This like saying “since the Nazis believed in Eungenics TToE is evil and wrong.”

Flight is scientific. Missiles use flight. Do the math.

Two short videos to assist your understanding of the current LAWLESSNESS and why - if we continue to SLUMBER - those responsible may NEVER BE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE.
What’s that old saying again? “USE it or LOSE it”. It applies to FREEDOM and the PROCESSES of MAINTAINING IT!
MILLIONS of us hitting those upcoming CONGRESSIONAL TOWN HALL meetings on a regular basis MIGHT send ‘em the message that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! “THEY” are counting you to REMAIN ASLEEP!
Oh yeah. If you can’t get to these meetings, the number at the Capitol is 202-224-3121. You should call your critters once a week or so to give them a piece of your mind. As an added bonus, you’ll be treated to the WORST MUSIC-ON-IGNORE in the history of mankind!

PS: I don’t know who this guy is but he’s distressingly spot on with most all his comments!

We either have THE RULE OF LAW for EVERYONE or we tolerate the LAWLESSNESS OF THE WOULD-BE RULERS!

We can’t have it BOTH WAYS!

And the end stage of the latter is ALWAYS TOTAL TYRANNY.

Which will it be, America? WHICH WILL IT BE??
And remember that the most dangerous phrase in ANY language is
“Why THAT could never happen HERE?”
Are you willing to bet YOUR KIDS’ future that it won’t?

If you’re STILL sitting out this fight, that’s PRECISELY what you’re doing!

Excellent point.

If Darwinian evolution is true, then people have no intrinsic value. Everything is reducible to “blood and soil” as the Nazis termed it.

We consider the Holocaust an atrocity. The Nazis considered it a logical result of taking Darwinism seriously.

Uh, okay. Whatever.

I would rather think that _true_ liberty would rather encourage the survival and thriving of the ‘fittest’, etc. vs. socialism, which as we can see is devouring societies and civilizations who are busily removing themselves from the gene pool.

(i.e. Japan, Western Europe, etc.)

Alvin Plantiga, a very smart and respected Christian philosopher, thinks that evolution supports theism.

Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson were top scientists of their day and the founding principles of the US were a product of the Age of Enlightenment.

I think the author is just trying to reiterate the fact that belief in “Darwinism” as a ruling paradigm for life may allow certain human behaviours to be considered to be the outflowing of biological imperative or patterns...and have no moral standard to be ranked against...what can follow from such a belief can be truly horrendous...and not necessarily beneficial to society as a whole.

Atheism equals survival of the fittest which by definition feeds on the bodies and souls of the innocent, weak and imperfect. Of course today, the sacrifices of humans are for their own good and done behind closed ddors. Barbaric ideology of the dark ages.

[sarcasm]Now now, you're going to run the Catholics and Orthodox away! After all, evolution and historical criticism are dogmas in those churches. In fact, they insist that from the very beginning, everyone has always believed in evolution. It was only when Darwin published his book about what everyone had always believed that a few stupid, witless, and probably slave-owning rural American Protestants suddenly invented creationism and total Biblical inerrancy out of whole cloth! Didn't you know that?[/sarcasm]

I am so sick and tired of people who believe St. George killed a dragon singling out only certain parts of the Hebrew Bible to be scorned and disbelieved. They (and the mainline Protestant churches) deserve everything that is happening to them. They have called G-d a liar for over a hundred years and it's time for them to die, no matter how "eternal" and "unchanging" they claim to be.

What's the difference between six day literal creationism and the virgin birth? Both are equally scientifically impossible. But when science says the latter is impossible they tell it to shut up and simply respond "it's a miracle." But when the same scientist rejects Genesis they insist that it would be heresy to disagree!

Did you know these hypocrites actually believe that Mary gave birth miraculously without tearing her hymen? But they reject Genesis, Joshua, Esther, and Jonah out of hand! And then they claim that Francis is betraying their "unchanging" church!

I live in the only county in my area with absolutely no Catholic presence whatsoever. And no wonder. With tracts on display defending evolution, they will never get a foothold here.

The only possible explanation for this hypocrisy is that they hate and despise the people with whom Genesis literalism is most associated, the rural American "redneck" (they seem to assume that Blacks have always been Darwinists). I assure them the feeling is mutual, and if the Fundamentalist Protestants of this country knew just how low an opinion of the Bible Catholics and Orthodox have, whatever prejudice against them would increase several fold.

PS: There are a few Catholic dissidents who actually dare to accept all events in the Bible as historical--even in the "old testament." The Kolbe Center has an article up now complaining about the widespread acceptance of the blatant lie that total inerrancy and six day creationism are a Fundamentalist Protestant "innovation" with absolutely no roots in the ancient past.

The secular worldview in vogue today, resting on Darwin’s advocacy of nature run by unguided natural processes, cannot derive any of these.

Was he advocating that or just saying it's the way things are?

I suspect many biologists would say that it's eat or be eaten in the world of nature, but humans don't have to conduct themselves that way -- and shouldn't.

Maybe Darwin -- who after all, opposed slavery -- was one of them.
