JFK did this Republic great harm when he allowed government workers the right to unionize. Much like LBJ moving the Social Security Trust Fund to the General Fund so the Democrats could raid it and just give IOUs in place of the $$$$$. Oh wait, do I see a common thread here? Democrats

I love the way Trump keeps hitting them with haymakers, while they’re still wobbly from the last one.

I looked it up and you are right. I thought government worker right to join unions was via statute, but it was definitely created through EO:

Wiki "Executive Order 10988"

Executive Order 10988 is a United States presidential executive order issued by President John F. Kennedy on January 17, 1962 that recognized the right of federal employees to collective bargaining. This executive order was a breakthrough for public sector workers, who were not protected under the 1935 Wagner Act.

Passage of the executive order forestalled the legislative Rhodes-Johnson Union Recognition bill, which would have given more power to federal employee unions, possibly creating a union shop arrangement.

Executive Order 10988 was effectively replaced by President Richard Nixon's Executive Order 11491 in 1969.

Labor historians believe that Executive Order 10988 served as a model for public sector unionism, even for local, municipal and state employees. Membership in AFSCME increased substantially during the 1960s and 1970s, and 22 states legalized collective bargaining for public sector workers. Public sector strikes also increased many times over.

In June 2018, the Supreme Court decision in the case of Janus v. AFSCME found that application of public sector union fees to government employees who are not union members represents compelled speech, and as such is a violation of First Amendment rights. This decision by the Supreme Court potentially reduces funding for Unions that represent Federal Government employees. Some have proposed repeal of Executive Order 10988, which could potentially occur if the President were to issue an executive order vacating Executive Order 10988.

The have to pretend to be relevant to justify their fat paychecks.

Why do I need a government to negotiate with another government over my paycheck? Isn’t one set of taxes enough?

“This administration has displayed nothing but contempt for the 2 million federal workers who serve the public each and every day.”

“Serve the Public?” These lazy ba$tards go to work every day to a government-backed “jobs program” that serves mainly themselves. If a private entity ran like the FedGov, they’d be out of business in short order. I hope to see at least one million of these worthless turds looking for work before Trump leaves office in 6+ years. If ABSCAM thinks the Trump Administration has “contempt” for them, they ought to drop by my place and I will tell them how contemptable I think they are.

They are outlawed: by Constitutional Federalism.

We just need actual conservatives to fight by the Rules.

Federal employees keep real busy?

“More Federal Employees Caught Using Work Computers To Access Porn, Claim ‘Boredom’ Made Them Do It from the and,-as-usual,-it’s-still-the-taxpayers-being-acrobatically-f***ed dept. It’s sometimes hard to believe, but government employees are people. And like most people who have access to an internet connection, they occasionally go surfing for porn. Perfectly normal. Except… well, except for many things.

Only the truly unemployed would be likely to go searching for porn as often as one SEC employee did, when he ran into the agency’s anti-porn firewall 1,800 times during a two-week period, without ever once considering this was how the system was designed, rather than just an indication that he wasn’t trying hard enough. Multiple employees at the agency were reprimanded for watching porn on their work computers for “98% of the workday.”

REALLY? I’ve NEVER gone surfing for porn, and I know plenty of people who never have, either! What a sick bunch we have in our society. If this character is a microcosm, we need to spend a WHOLE lot more time in prayer.

It's everywhere. My father came home in 1946 from more than four years in Australia in the US Navy. He was in Naval Procurement. They put him in an office building on Market St. in SF with virtually nothing to do, while his CO was calling Washington asking for more staff. The reason, the asshole was looking for an increase in rank and he need to “manage” more people for that to happen. So Dad joined the reserves as soon as he could and was assigned to a group down at Moffett Field in Santa Clara. After one meeting, he decided that he could do without the Navy any longer. He said that showed a film on "Meat Procurement" that started out with cows grazing on a hillside!
