If the government of Mexico or Canada brought a bunch of US criminals to the border and forced them to walk across, I suspect that our government would have a fit. It’s exactly the same, except the Government of Mexico is complicit in allowing the fence-jumpers to do so in the first place. But, turning a blind eye to crime is not the same as actually committing a crime, as our government would be doing if it forced people to walk across into Mexico.
If we did make them walk back across, it would only be hours or days later that they crossed over again someplace else. We know they do this as people have been “deported” officially sometimes dozens of times. The only thing that might actually stop fence jumpers would be to shoot them. I don’t see that happening. Ever.
However, if properly motivated, Mexico might be happy to shoot them. What that motivation might be, I have no idea.
