Having seen her interviewed several times and given her prison record, I doubt Leslie Van Houten is a threat to society. However, some crimes are so vile that they deserve the death penalty or absent that, life imprisonment.

I really don't care one way or other about Leslie Van Houten. She should have been executed 45+ years ago but the fact that she wasn't and used the opportunity to apparently rehabilitate herself would support parole. On the other side, few crimes were more vicious and anyone involved deserves the maximum penalty allowable (which now in California means life imprisonment).

I dont care if they chop her head off, That being said stop the farce of parole. She deserves it as much as the other skids they let out based on prison records age and threats to society

Exactly. Everyone becomes a feeble older fairly sweet and harmless person. But what you did never goes away, no matter how helpless you eventually become. Justice is justice.

That little group should have been the poster kids for “Just say No”.

In 1998, Karla Faye Tucker, was the first female to be executed in the state of Texas since 1863. She claimed to have found Jesus and married the prison chaplain. She’d been a druggie since her early teens. At age 24, while high, she and her boyfriend went to another friends’ house to steal his vehicles. Tucker killed the guy and a woman there with a pick ax. She claimed to have had orgasms at each strike of the ax.

She had the Pope and the UN come running to her defense but W. Bush refused to stay the execution. IMO, if she hadn’t been so proud of herself at the trial and told of the orgasms, she probably wouldn’t have received the death penalty. Some things can’t be overlooked even if you do marry the chaplain.
