This makes no sense. 85% support Merkel’s position which is to relocate migrants within the EU. At the same time, Germans also support turning migrants back at the border!
So in effect, Germans are in favor of both sides of contradictory and mutually exclusive policies.
What this poll is really saying is: “we have no idea what to do about the mess we’re in.”
They favor a “european approach”....which means offloaded as many of the muslims on others as they can.
They don’t want a “national approach” because THEIR government wants to take in as many muslims as possible.
Of course they created the problem in the first place. I remember encountering this lunatic ideology of theirs to take anybody who cared to wander in and claim asylum and then immediately putting them on the dole back in the early 90s when I was an exchange student there. I was astonished at the stupidity of it and knew it would lead them to ruin - which it now has.
