House considers ‘largest amnesty bill in history,’ adds 2.2 million, bigger than Houston
Washington Examiner ^ | June 27, 2018 | Paul Bedard

The immigration compromise the House plans to vote on Wednesday would provide the biggest amnesty ever, turning 2.2 million undocumented and illegal immigrants into citizens, according to a new analysis of the package from House Speaker Paul Ryan.

Most legal immigrants come via family-based chain migration. Unlike the Goodlatte bill, which came close to passing last week, with 193 votes, the Ryan bill would preserve the largest chain migration categories (such as the parents of naturalized citizens, including those of "Dream" amnesty beneficiaries)

Dodged a bullet with the failure of this bill yesterday. Truth finally comes out that the "Dreamers" will not be separated from their parents. So for every "Dreamer" given amnesty multiply it by at least two for their parents.

The House could add 20 Million and the Dem’s wouldn’t sign on.

Old news. Voted on yesterday and defeated soundly...not even close.

Paul Ryan is a real beauty.

Down in flames.

They do seem hard pressed to recognize that anything offering AMNESTY is DOA. As Trump said, give it up. Now, if they want to pass a few items without this, say mandatory eVerify and fund the wall, that’d be great starts. How about a simple law, if you cross at a non-authorized border point, you are not eligible for entry for 10 years, due process is getting fingerprinted, photographed, DNA swab, and returned to point of entry. Try again, banned for life and risk criminal prosecution and jail. We need to clean up what is legislated due process for illegal entry, remove confusing laws and judicial legislating.

No immediate citizenship for those who’ve been waiting 10 years?

Put the shamnesty candidates at the END of a 10 or 20 year line on “path” to citizenship if at all.

I disagree. If you invaded the country illegally you can NEVER become a citizen.
The only path is to become a legal resident, but NOT a citizen.
And even that should be difficult and rare.

The whole thing is a charade. The RINO’s can go back to their districts with talking points that they tried, but the Dems would not join them. Nothing was going to get done. This is just cover.

It would be interesting to see who, among the Republicans, voted for this bill but rejected the Goodlatte bill.

This horrible bill was defeated by vote slaughter...it was so bad. Paul Ryan was soundly defeated too!!! Ryan is totally ineffective as Speaker, hates POTUS, Trump, gets nothing done...Pubbies...dump this loser, Paul Ryan...today, and elect Congressman, Jim Jordan of Ohio as your new Speaker of the House of Representatives. For goodness sake, get rid of Paul Ryan...now!!!

I know that in the current news cycle that yesterday is ancient history but we need to be vigilant about what was being proposed.

Amnesty for:

700,000 current DACA recipients

1,200,000 DACA eligible

300,000 adult children of guestworkers

Total 2.2 million plus gateway for parents of all of the above. This was proposed in a Republican controlled House. Can you imagine if the Democrats controlled the situation.

All Dreamers should be deported and if they want to blame someone, blame their parents for not trying to come in legally.
