Depends on how badly the Germans take this defeat, but it could spill over into an overall discomfort with the way things are going in Germany.
Merkel better keep looking over her shoulder.

Well, its Russia after all. The last time the Germans went to Russia bad things also happened to them there.

They need to re-evaluate the team from the top down.
They were out-hustled by all three teams in their group. It was just chance that they were able to beat Sweden.

Oh my gosh. Shocking. So now I’m rooting for Argentina.

They won Euro 1996 and then came in last place in their group the following tournament at Euro 2000 - they rebuilt, restructured and almost won the World Cup 2 years later.
However dramatic this result for them is taken, their current WC team was not exactly the cream of their crop. Lots of vets just need to hang it up at the international level.
They’ll get over this, unless their team starts to look like France’s - a smorgasbord of athletes from the world over (”DIVERSITY”) and an internal lockeroom of hate and strife.

Well, the leading presidential candidate in Mexico is said to be a communist...
(That fact, which depending on the accuracy of the polls certainly telegraphs Mexico's national sentiment, also seems missing from most or all of our public discussions over illegal immigrant and the wall.

Germany was lucky to get past Sweden. But they’re out and Merkel should follow.
The German mood is not good.
