A great hour plus.

He makes me lonely for the discourse of thoughtful friends. A great hour plus.

Wow, I discovered Jordan Peterson in only the last two weeks and I've been daily finding Youtube of his talks and get enough of his talks.

I am converting the Youtubes I find to podcasts via the wicked fast YouTube to MP3 Converter on-line.

I can't think of any other academic who has the same qualities of: scholarly tenacity, a vast multi-disciplinary knowledge, champion of the scientific method, fierce defender of freedom, and an ability to communicate.

Canada produces great men, not just great hockey players.

This guy is brilliant, and not just when it comes to politics. His insights into the human mind are fascinating. He's also fearless. And unceasingly polite--even kind--to those who screech at him. He's like the big monster that could rip people to shreds but chooses not to, which means he's actually capable of changing minds.

If you have some time, watch his Youtube videos--on anything. Political correctness, diet (he eats only meat and greens), how to stop procrastinating, how to be less anxious. Fabulous, insightful stuff.

Yes, I am using a SanDisk ClipSport MP3 Player

https://www.google.com/search?q=mp3+sandisk+clipsport&tbm=isch&gws_rd=ssl

I’ve been using it for a year now, and I’ve recently run into the trouble of hearing only one side of the recording. And I think it’s because I’ve connected/disconnected the headphones so many times I have damaged the female connector in the device.

Other than that, it allows you to listen to FM radio as well.

I like him, he is smart and civilized. I’ve listened to him a year or longer -my son told me about him. I don’t always agree with him, but I learn more as I am questioning and strengthening my ideas, or occasionally changing them

A friend turned me on to Mr Peterson.

I am very impressed with his earnest desire to ‘figure things out” & admire his lecture style.

I saw the way he rendered the FemiNazi on BBC 4 unable to speak & a intellectual bromance has begun!!!

Seriously, I have never seen a man speak with such incredible precision, never wasting words or time & making his points with righteous certainty. I bought his newest book but can’t stop watching his lectures long enough to read it!

“...lonely for the discourse...”

Agreed. Watch some of the Milton Friedman videos; he was able to have good, rational discussions with rather radical socialists. There was disagreement but mutual respect.

It's curious.

I think Peterson is a man for our time in history.

The last 3 years have been dominated by Trump and his vision for how to change America. Even Trump's opponents cannot deny his dominance of our consciousness.

Yet, the divisions in the country are still stark. Hatred abounds -- from both sides, but particularly on the Left.

And we recognize the each of us is locked into a certain idealogy we've used to describe our political positions.

Pederson and another guy I follow, Scott Adams, seem ideally poised to take us beyond today's silliness because they explain the psychological forces that power our world.

Is social media merely a passing fad? What's more enriching to me is finding these "prophets" who don't have a radio show or Fox News time slot.

YouTube and a fast converter give us fast access to these great thinkers, so we can enjoy their wisdom every afternoon on a walk about the neighborhood.

Ha! Fully agree. And there’s a constant battle inside his brain as which voice gets the right to speak next!

Jordan Peterson is at the avant-garde of dismantling the plague that is postmodernism and its spawn cultural Marxism.

That was pretty good. I thought it was really interesting to watch his response near the end when the lady asked him what one thing he would say to the Canadian Prime Minister. It was obvious that he had several things that came to mind, and he sat there in silence weighing and rejecting responses. It’s nice to see someone rally think about what they say.

Certainly there are several attention-grabbing ideas competing for attention and interest. One is “Trumpism”, and it’s YUGE. Divisive, inspiring and surprisingly conservative in many ways. Then there’s the Left, out of the closet and in your face socialist with actual communism hovering behind it. Then there’s people like Jordan Peterson, Scott Adams, Joe Rogan, Dave Rubin and others. They’re looking at things almost apolitically, asking us to have open minds, or at least they’re encouraging people to think their own thoughts and question their preconceived beliefs.

It’s a fascinating time, as well as unsettling and sometimes scary.

I agree. I’m going to look up Joe Rogan and Dave Rubin because I don’t know them yet. Thanks.

I haven’t used an actual mp3 player in years. I just use my phone (Old Samsung Note 4), with a 128GB MicroSD card in it. It has more storage space than I’ll ever need and it’s always with me.
