Exclusive–Rep. King: The Supreme Court Just Laid the Foundation for the Border Wall
Breitbart ^ | 6/26/2018 | Rep. Steve King

Posted on 06/26/2018 6:15:50 PM PDT by bitt

In one ruling, the Supreme Court has delivered two major victories to President Trump. The first victory is obvious: Trump v. Hawaii validates the President’s broad authority to restrict entry of specified foreign nationals into the United States when the President finds such entry is “detrimental to the interests of the United States.” What does this mean? It means, as I have argued, that President Trump’s “travel ban” limiting immigration from Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Chad, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen is constitutional. It means that President Trump does have the authority, despite the open-borders howls of liberals and illegal alien activists, to secure our citizens against threats posed by foreign nationals from dysfunctional states. It is a good ruling, and one that will help President Trump keep this nation safe, secure, and protected.

But Trump v. Hawaii is a decision with a less obvious meaning too. The Supreme Court has just laid the foundation for the Border Wall that the President and I want to build along the US-Mexico border. Trump v. Hawaii, in fact, provides a roadmap to “Build The Wall!”

Trump laid the corner stone and foundation.

Others can take credit for the cement between the joints if they like.

Too much winning!

Too much winning!

Just kidding.

I love winning.

There is no such thing as too much.

This is an excellent legal argument, well worth reading in full (I know reading the full article is a violation of FR tradition, just don’t tell others you did it). The bottom line is that this win could and should carry over to the broad illegal invasion issue on our southern border.

it is, but all the Left has to do is find another willing judge somewhere who thinks he can over rule this.

They’ll keep taking it to the Supremes if the SCOTUS doesn’t tell the judges to knock it off and the Congress doesn’t start impeaching some of them.

Judge Thomas told them ALL to "knock it off" TODAY!

The SCOTUS is the HIGHEST COURT IN THE LAND and no lower court can over ride this judgement and no judge can stop this nokw; no it can NOT be relitigated!

Justice Thomas fired a shot across the bow of these overreaching judges.

If these overreaching rulings get too popular, the USSC will do something about it.

Do it now, Clarence, do it now.

The United States Supreme Court is the only Constitutional court in the land.

The rest of those wannabe dictators in robes are expendable.

He could be right,in principle. However,we can be damn sure that the Rats will draw this out in the courts right through 2020.

So even if King's correct there's absolutely no guarantee that there will be a wall in the near future...if at all.

limiting immigration from Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Chad, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen is constitutional.

Mr. President, now that the precedent has been set, feel free to add to the list.

My prediction (write it on the wall for future reference):

Trump will wait for the House immigration bill to fail. Then he will wait for that radical candidate to win the presidency of Mehico and begin to make threats.

Only then will Trump act to build the wall. (but it’s gonna happen pretty quick)

In Trump I Trust

Someone said you can deal with a complex and slow moving bureaucracy by doing something without permission and then letting them form committees and study groups to propose methods to legally oppose it and reverse it later. They take so long to reverse it that you won anyway.

So,build the wall.
Let them say that wall is wrong, it has to go.
We don’t like that it’s still over there. We’ll sue somebody.

But the wall is there. Just a thought.

Are you kidding? 1992 the SCOTUS rules that the President could enforce the borders. They also ruled that federal funds could be with held from states not compiling with federal law. The left could give a flip on SCOTUS rulings. What needs to happen is that Trump should start to weaken their power by ignoring a single judges opinon not backed up by the constitution, and state that 1 judge does not equal the power of the President, period!

I believe that you are right. Mexico is about to learn a hard lesson in realpolitik because President Trump is 'Prometheus Unbound'. Trump seriously intends to fulfill every one of his campaign promises and his biggest, most repeated promise was to "Build the Wall!" and he will do it one way or the other and Mexico will pay for it.

***Trump should start to weaken their power by ignoring a single judges opinon not backed up by the constitution, and state that 1 judge does not equal the power of the President, period***

I sent this msg to POTUS repeatedly in his first year; he must not allow judges to usurp the authority of the President! He has a responsibility to maintain that authority for any Presidents yet to come.

I told him not to accept that one corrupt judge on the Pacific coast could rule for the whole nation. I am not surprised that SCOTUS confirmed that today. If an obscure judge can rule for the whole nation then we don't need a Supreme Court!

The Dems pervert everything they touch - they must be defeated!

***The left could give a flip on SCOTUS rulings***

Boy! Does Jay Seculow and Pay Robertson know that! They have had to repeatedly take religious issues in the public schools back to SCOTUS even though they naturally win every time. The first time they fail to do so the game is lost. The Left has limitless $$$$ to destroy liberty!

I like the idea. We should just lay triple-strand concertina wire where the Wall is going to be. Lay the wire, patrol it with drones, and prosecute any vandals who damage/destroy/cut the wire along with invaders who attempt to cross the wire. Show some immediate results on discouraging these undocumented democrat voters.

Don’t pick up illegals unless they cross the wire. Let them stare at it and then turn back on their own. If they damage the concertina wire crossing it, then prosecute them for destruction of government property and deport them. Anyone we deport should have a permanent do-not-return order. Give them a lifelong penalty for illegally invading our country.
