Intern for Dem senator suspended for shouting 'f--- you' at Trump

An intern for Democratic Sen. Maggie Hassan (N.H.) was suspended for a week for shouting an expletive at President Trump while he visited the Capitol last week.

The intern will have restricted access to the Capitol moving forward, Aaron Jacobs, director of communications for Hassan, told The Hill in a statement.

“We are aware of the situation and have taken disciplinary action, including a one-week suspension and revoking her Congressional intern ID badge (thereby restricting her access to the Capitol), in response to her breach of office policies regarding respectful and appropriate conduct. We also facilitated contact with Capitol Police," Jacobs said.

Hassan's office did not immediately respond to a request to identify the intern, but multiple media reports indicate her name is Caitlin Marriott.

Nose rings are an indication they are ‘easily led’.

I’m not suggesting that the intern was smart (an intern yelling f you to the President sounds as intelligent as a federal employee berating a cabinet secretary at dinner) nor do I believe the comparison is necessarily about the two episodes. Rather, the point is whether or not it is intellectually consistent to cheer on Joe Wilson (which I did) while demanding that the intern be fired (which I’m not necessarily advocating). Yea, one uttered an f-bomb and the other didn’t use vulgarity but prescinding from that point both individuals simply spoke their mind.

Essentially can’t be “fired,” but it’s WORSE to have this on your resume, even if she’s looking to work for liberals ...

Oh, I don't know how that would hurt on a resume. After all, wasn't the BEAST fired from the House Judiciary Committee's Watergate investigation by Chief Counsel Jerry Zeifman.

Most interns, if they are paid at all, receive nothing but a stipend....One week suspension is nothing for her vulgar behavior.

Ted Kennedy knew how to deal with “interns”. So did Pres. Clinton and Johnson. It must be a “Democrat” thing.

Your entire premise is flawed. I doubt very many here would have supported a smart mouthed GOP intern who said FU to Obama.

Reading is fundamental sport. I addressed that issue with you. A Congressman stands charged with the interests of the people. Wilson saying “you lie” is precisely his job.
A 21 year old intern simply screaming FU is not doing her job.

Wilson was a member of the body that sits superior to the President and when a president lies to him, he at any time may say “you lie”.

And intern is beneath everyone there and has zero constitutional charge to confront anyone...much less spout out meaningless vulgarities.

Supporting Wilson and wanting her fired is 100% consistent.

She’s a Democrat. They’ve probably already started the paperwork to get her a raise.
