Trump’s Immigration Policies Are Actually Pretty Popular
The Federalist ^ | June 22,2018 | Mollie Hemingway

When given a choice for how to handle illegal border crossing arrests, some 44 percent of Americans chose “hold families together in family detention centers until an immigration hearing at a later date.” Another 20 percent of U.S. adults chose detention options that would separate families. Only 19 percent chose to return to the policy of allowing people who cross the border illegally to go without detention on the promise they’d return for a court hearing at a later date.

The Economist/YouGov poll shows an American electorate fare more serious about border enforcement than what the media conversation would indicate. For instance, more Americans support treating the illegal crossing of the border as a criminal matter than a civil matter. Among Republicans, that percentage who support treating illegal border crossing as a criminal matter goes up to 74 percent. The poll also shows that 80 percent of Republicans support a border wall, 62 percent support deportation for all those in the country illegally, and 74 percent think that illegally crossing the border should be handled as a criminal matter.

If you get your news from the mainstream media, you’d think the American people were demanding lax border enforcement, when it’s the exact opposite. Again, this is particularly true of Republicans. While Republicans who oppose this policy dominate most right-of-center space on cable TV and in the media, only 4 percent of actual adults who identify as Republican strongly disapprove of the policy of jailing illegal border crossers. Some 85 percent of Republicans support either Trump’s executive order for family detention or something stricter. Only 7 percent oppose all such detentions.

The poll also shows that only 8 percent of American voters think illegal immigration is not a serious problem.

Another poll should ask legals what they think of illegals.....

Legals hate illegals...Worked construction in Denver....Legals would tell us if there were illegals and they wanted them fired..no problem the next pay day they were gone..

I heard there was a poll, which showed support for Trump holding amid the barrage of kids at the border stories pushed by the media.

Rachel maddow crying on TV is apparently not moving the deplorables to become liberal .

I was doing a job at a church a few years ago. I got to know the janitor. He was from Ecuador or Guatemala, I’m old, I forget which.

One day he tells me he is going to take his citizenship oath. He spent many years and mucho dollars but he was proud as hell that he did it right. He didn’t have to look over his shoulder or keep hiding like so many do.

He was no fan of illegals who swam across and expected free stuff the same day.

POTUS, Trump will be rallying in South Carolina this coming Monday & in North Dakota for a major rally next Wednesday. Hey, you folks in NC & ND, turn out by the thousands to support our great “MAGA” POTUS, Trump.

The Trump rally in “Democrat Blue” Duluth, Minnesota was a massive rousing success with 10,000 folks in the arena and many more thousands outside.

And...let’s make Madame, Maddow cry “real tears” as she witnesses the political destruction of the entire Democrat Party, come this November.

Support POTUS, Trump...Support Trump backed Candidates for House and Senate seats in November.....and...MAGA!!!

As usual the Democrats have overplayed their hand. The “separating children from parents” meme may have had some initial traction, but now demanding that the family not be held at all won’t wash, not even in places like CA.

Indeed and another valid poll shows that Mueller and his investigation are rapidly losing approval. Both are deeply under water.

Illegal immigration wouldn’t have become the major political issue of the 2016 election — the issue that propelled Donald Trump into the presidency — if Barack Obama hadn’t actively engaged in flooding the U.S. with trainloads of illegal immigrant children.

Americans were angry that their children’s schools would be overwhelmed with too many students, that their neighborhoods would be plagued with immigrant teenage gangs, and welfare rolls would balloon at taxpayer’s expense.

The more Rachel Maddow and the Democrats dwell on the illegal-immigration issue, the more Donald Trump’s followers feel threatened by the prospect of Democrats re-gaining office and flooding the country with more trainloads of illegal-immigrant children.

Which means that every crocodile tear shed by Rachel Maddow, every hysterical pro-immigrant-children outburst by the Democrats serves to energize Trump supporters to attend Trump rallies, to work for Republican candidates, and to vote for Republicans in November.

If Rachel can’t stop crying there will be a Republican landslide on election day and then what will she do? Tear her hair, rend her garments, demolish her studio?

things may be turning around.

Yesterday, our Philippine news papers were full of these articles, originating in US papers. Our elite tend to obey the NWO memes, which is why there is a daily outrage in the papers against Trump. Of course, we have our own “fake news” reports trying to get rid of Duterte, but outside of the elite, he remains popular, maybe because ordinary voters here don't live in gated communities and so like the fact we are safer.

so yesterday, the usual rich SJW trolls from the universities in Manila (where they live in gated communities) were echoing the anti trump meme.

So I posted comments on two articles in our local Philippine newspapers.pointing out that a lot of what they lamented was going on under Obama, and that the kids lives were endangered by illegal entry instead of asking for asylum via regular channels.

but some hing has changed: There are now quite a few comments pointing these things out.

People that do it the legal way are forgotten in all the hoopla. Putting forth the effort to come here legally and go through the legal process is not mentioned in the media, they want people to believe that is not possible.

You cannot imagine how many people over the years have told me if only there was a legal way for people from Mexico and Central America to come here it would solve the illegal immigration problems. The media has been successful in convincing people there is no legal way now in our system. Mind boggling.

Every time illegal immigrants are given any concession I think of all the people who have done it the right way, and as you said it often takes years. How on earth do they feel when things are demanded by and for illegals. When illegals are given all the breaks- it has to be like a kick in the teeth to those who choose to do it the legal way.

This is wrong, and there is no other way to look at it. This country has been ignoring those that do it the right way, and rewarding people breaking our laws.
