Italy to seize NGO rescue ships as migrant row deepens

Italy says it will seize two migrant rescue ships in the Mediterranean, amid a deepening row over migrants.

Two German NGO ships carrying migrants "will be seized" to determine their legal status.

The move comes as French President Emmanuel Macron attacked the "leprosy" of anti-EU feeling, angering Italy's new populist government.

Italy sparked the fresh row earlier this month when it refused to take in the Aquarius rescue ship....

Leaders from the 10 EU member states will meet in Brussels on Sunday to discuss how best to stem the flow of migrants into the bloc.

The Italian government earlier said it will not sign up to any EU plan unless it makes helping Italy a priority, while Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary-known as the Visegrad Group-said they will boycott the talks....

In a speech in Brittany, Mr. Macron said anti-EU feeling was rising "a bit like a leprosy across Europe", including in "neighboring countries".....

Deputy Italian Prime Minister and leader of the Five Star movement Luigi DiMaio tweeted in Italian that Mr. Macron's words were "offensive and misplaced", saying that "true leprosy" is when countries turn back migranrs and then "preach to us" about calls for them to be redistributed to other EU states......

Many see the flood of migrants as an invasion which is of course an act of war, so why not take war like measures in response.

“Isn’t siezing foreign-flagged shipa frowned upon? Maybe even an act of war?”

Not if that ship is engaging in crimes in the high seas.

Too bad we can't do the equivalent defending our Southern border. I suspect that the Democrat controlled NGOs are doing everything possible to start a human wave assault on the border to collapse the system. The flow is already way to high and the invaders are provided transportation, food, clothing, attorneys to further gum up the US legal system and anything else to help bring down the country.

Washington is sending hundreds of National Guard to the border, why not thousands...

The GOP in Congress still refuses to allocate the dollars needed to build the wall.

In Italy take note their actions came because new political parties took power, not the old ones like Republicans and Democrats in this country.

“..They have land, they have seeds, they have manpower, why in the name of God, do they have to travel thousands of miles instead of making their countries livable and comfortable....”

For the same reason people have invaded other countries since time immemorial.

Conquest.

They think they can do it via politics now, instead of bloodshed, and with traitorous socialist assh*les embedded within every government (yeah, no conspiracy there at all), they’re accomplishing it.

Except... people are starting to push back.

Sooner or later, it won’t be non-violent. And hopefully, some of the socialist bastards pushing this will meet their well-deserved Mussolini or Ceacescu moment.

Just sayin’...

Conquest was not on my father’s and mother’s minds when they came to this wonderful country.

My Dad was a bricklayer, who CONTRIBUTED greatly to the building of the lovely homes in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia. My Mother was a seamstress, who CONTRIBUTED to many a wedding by designing and making all the gowns from bride to flower girl.

They wanted to live in freedom and becoming Americans was the proudest thing they ever did.

I’m wondering if the people at the border have that same mindset, that same feeling, that same desire to assimilate.
And are they willing to CONTRIBUTE to the wonder of America.

“...Conquest was not on my father’s and mother’s minds when they came to this wonderful country....”

Your mother and father - as were MY great-great-grandparents - were not the same as what’s coming here now. Not even in the same class nor category.

They came here the right way, LEGALLY, became PART of America.

I’m assuming your folks didn’t waltz across the border, jump into the welfare system, and become a drain on resources; they came here, worked their asses off to build a better life for you, and did so legally. They got in line, became Citizens, and didn’t expect US to change our language, our culture, our traditions, etc., to accommodate them.

And I grew up in Philly too. My neighborhood was FULL of Polish, Ukrainian, German, Irish, Italian folks who were MORE American than anything else.

There is a vast difference between that and what’s happening at our southern border. Not even in the same league.

It is so different now, that I have a really hard time feeling anything close to sympathy.

They should DO IT THE RIGHT WAY...IT’S THE ONLY WAY.

But, they don’t want that. I can’t believe they are so brazen as to think they would be welcomed.

“..I can’t believe they are so brazen as to think they would be welcomed....”

Well, they’re told by the proxies of a particular political party that they WILL be welcomed. So, it’s not a surprise that they believe it.

This is more an invasion than anything else. Those pushing this want to re-shape our future, and make us the minority in our own Country.

And they’re quite blatant about it. So we need to be just as blatant - and determined - to not let that happen.

Good replies everyone, thanks. I don’t disagree with any of them. The point I was alluding to (too vaguely) was that this could get big fast. Italy will likely face some serious blow-back — and that will just be the end of round one.

They come for the free money, free housing, free food, and easy access to raping European women and children.
And then there is the whole hijrah thing...Islamification through mass migration.
