Careful What You Wish For "Resistance Democrats"
The Daily Dose of Reason ^ | June 21, 2018 | Dr. Michael J Hurd

Posted on 06/21/2018 3:24:38 PM PDT by huckfillary

“DHS boss Kirstjen Nielsen heckled, harassed at DC restaurant”, reads another headline. Since President Trump took office, the only opposition tactics we have seen are heckling, harassing, threatening, intimidating, cajoling, mocking, using foul language and even violence.

Is this all “the resistance” has? Whatever happened to argumentation? Whatever happened to reason and persuasion?

They never state their case and make it rationally.

Do THEY believe their views favoring open borders, socialized medicine, unlimited government spending and debt, subsidizing corrupt businesses, and curbing the rights to free speech and bearing arms are outside of reason? If so, then why do they cling so tenaciously to those views?

At some point, we have to stop dignifying leftist and Democratic opposition as anything remotely rational. If they have anything to say, in a rational way without the use of force, or threats of the use of force, or shouting or tempter tantrums, then it makes sense to (1) listen and (2) respond with your counterpoint. But that has yet to happen even one time since President Trump took office.

You have to wonder what these resisting Democrats ultimately want to accomplish. Do they actually think their intimidation and threats are going to get people who support many of President Trump’s policies to back down? They certainly will never get him to back down, which is why he enjoys increasing support even among those who reluctantly voted for him. Republicans have not seen anything like this — well, just about ever.

So why don’t we put the Democratic leftists on the defensive and start asking them, “What would it look like if you had won? Let’s say you retake Congress in 2018 and the White House in 2020. And that you do so by mocking, hostility, threats, deceit and intimidation. Do you really think these things are practical, persuasive and foster the cooperation you need from the electorate to do the things you wish to do? Do you really think that the people who hate you now will hate you any less after you succeed in knocking down opposition in this way?”

Careful what you wish for Democrats. The ONLY strategy we see you using is the hatred, heckling and threats you decry in others, and that you falsely attribute to President Trump, his supporters, or anyone else who dissents from your party line about anything.

You leftists and Democrats might think you can win by intimidation and heckling. But you win nothing, other than more of a reputation as a foot-stamping, tantrum-manipulating child with no agenda to offer. You’re big babies who reveal you have nothing substantive to say by abandoning reason one-hundred percent. If you ever do find yourselves back in power, at least half the country — the more rational half — will be in more of a resisting mood than you have ever been, only this time with substance.

Just watch.

This is another brilliant article by Dr. Michael J. Hurd. It's so true--the democrats never debate. Why? Because their positions cannot pass the test of reason. Wonderboy David Hogg immediately refused a challenge to debate by Kyle Kashuv.

So they are left with lying, screaming, name-calling, hysterics, the frequent use of profanity, and the lowest of lows--targeting and verbally abusing Barron Trump. Imagine if some conservative said the same thing about Malaria and Sharia Obama? End of career---no ifs, ands, or buts.

So, if you're waiting for a genuine debate between liberals and conservatives on any substantive issue, don't hold your breath.

Oh come on. The premise is that they somehow won. Well after that they don't care about cooperation and persuasion. That's what their propaganda arm in the media is for. They enact bad policy to ruin america and punish their enemies and the media tells everyone that it's popular and good.

Yes, we’ll make substantive arguments and write strongly worded letters - that’ll put the fear of God in the left!

They do not care about whether people oppose or hate them after they seize the Presidency. They intend to take full and permanent control when that h appens. They thought they had it in 2016 and they are totally bonkers because they didn't get it. They will double down on vote stealing and all other forms of vote fraud next time and if they succeed it will be the last time there is an election with less than 99 percent for them.

The judges frantically striking down voter roll cleansing and anti fraud actions in the States are part of the Progressive campaign to seize the government.

I saw this happen at statewide level with Scott Walker and Wisconsin. His approach in WI was effective in getting the job done, basically, stay low-key, polite, don’t budge on key issues, and strong arm your legislators behind the scenes.

The statewide hissy fit concentrated in Madison and Milwaukee helped Walker bring out his people in the recall election. I didn’t think the bad guys would take this approach national, but then I didn’t think Obama could use Chicago style political infestation of the entire government apparatus national, and he proved me wrong.

I think this is what they do despite the results because it is who they are, like the way Boris and Natasha use bombs even though they don’t really work on cartoon characters.

Yup, they are also working hard to lock up the state Secretaries of State all around the nation so that any close elections can be refused certification until they manufacture enough votes to give it to the dem. And the judges in PA decided to rewrite all the electoral maps to give dems a big advantage too, look for that to take off around the country. They stop at nothing and have no scruples.

“....we have to stop dignifying leftist and Democratic opposition as anything remotely rational....”
Been saying it for years. They’re insane. They suffer from a debilitating, chronic, no-cure mental disease brought on by liberalism. It rots out their pea brains to the point that they cannot tell reality from fantasy: up is down, right is wrong, evil is good, etc. etc. As their brains rot out, it instills violence in em, especially when confronted with reality. They cannot handle it and just go off the deep end. There is no longer any way we can co-exist with these godless, vile creatures. They belong in a padded cell, not government.
Around these parts, we call em “the walking democrats”: Zombies...totally useless, dangerous as hell, sucking off the productive and about the only thing they might be good for is occasional “target practice”.
War is at the doorstep, and its gonna be bloody and ugly. Civility will be a long, lost word, and many a lib will literally have their scalps taken while still alive as “victory prizes”. Libs have been pushing us far too long, and they got it coming to em...BIG TIME. Their only hope of survival is in the POTUS, but they’re too damn stupid to realize it.

Statists are very patient. Their time-horizon is well into the future. They are completely long-term in their outlook. Unlike the GOP, which never thinks long-term. Their time-horizon is the next election. Does the GOP have a long-term strategy for dismantling the welfare state ? Not bloody likely. Privatizing education ? Privatizing Social
Security ? No. Because they are not true-believers. Democrats are all in favor of growing government and they act accordingly.

Liberalism is a mental disease. It consists in ad hoc emotions detached from history and reason. There is no known cure as any anti-social personality disorder would demonstrate.

Psychiatrist Dr.Hurd is an Objectivists; however, he has been more sympathetic to the President than many other Objectivists. He once said words to the effect that the President may be crude, but he makes good points.

I am an Objectivist. Anything wrong with that ? This country could sure use a lot more Objectivist voices on the political landscape.

I never said anything was wrong with it. Even I read Leonard Peikoff’s “Analytic/synthetic Dichotomy” along with all of Ayn Rand’sfiction works. I don’t think Dr. Piekoff supported Donald Trump wheras I voted for the President in the general election.
