Signing an executive order forbidding the separation of parents and children (i.e. standard operating procedure for any other detention or incarceration) was a bad move to begin with. It was a capitulation to media spin for the sake of PR and makes it look like an admission that there was something inherently wrong with common-sense immigration law enforcement.
