President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he would sign a “preemptive” effort to keep illegal immigrant families together, previewing executive action on the issue.
“We have compassion, we want to keep families together. It’s very important,” Trump said. “I’ll be signing something in a little while that’s going to do that and the people in this room want to do that and they’re working on various pieces of legislation to get it done.”
Trump spoke about his plans during a White House meeting with Republican members of Congress about trade and immigration enforcement. His tone was markedly different from comments he made on Tuesday defending his administration’s commitment to enforcing the law.
“We have to be very strong on the border but at the same time we want to be very compassionate,” he said.
The president admitted that his executive action might not hold up in the courts, but cited former President Barack Obama’s DACA executive amnesty as an inspiration.
“When he signed it, he said I’m really not allowed to sign it, I’m going to sign it anyway,” he said commenting that several judges actually held up the legality of Obama’s executive action.
Establishment Republicans grew increasingly nervous about the dramatic media coverage of the zero tolerance border enforcement policies, signaled growing concern during the meeting.

US Military Veterans are homeless and starving in the USA without proper Medical Care because there is no money to take care of them.
US Citizens, including Children are homeless and hungry in the United States of America because there is no money to take care of them.
We cannot take care of the actual Citizens we have in America. And yet Illegal Aliens are given a home, free food, and free medical care. They want for nothing while American Citizens suffer in every city in the Nation.
I’ve got a plan to keep them together. Give them a cheap tent, some water and some MREs and have them stay on the other side of the border until the heat gets to them and they go back home.
Send them to Canada.
No!!! Turn them back at the border. Mexico let them in or they are from Mexico. It is their problem, not ours. Either direct them to the consulate or embassy in Mexico or their home country, else, if absolultely necessary, send a consul to the Mexican side of border to receive their application. NEVER LET THEM IN THE US UNTIL AND ONLY IF THEY ARE APPROVED!!!
This is to save the cowardly and inert GOP from themselves in the mid-terms. Having no principles, they can’t articulate a principled defense of the law and, so, are adrift in the gales of emotion.
Someone needs to make sure they are being reunited with their actual parents and not human traffickers.
Easy...immigration LOCKDOWN. Take them all, kids and “parents”, toss them over to Mexico, and shut the gate behind them.

If they are kept together IN CUSTODY that is OK with me, then they can be kept together as they are deported.
In OH there are sob stories about raids at a huge nursery company and a meat packer, "those poor children". Logic would be those vile employers of invaders should be footing the bill.
There are ten U.S. consulates in Mexico. The “families” can go to any one of this and they will NOT be separated.

This is a deft move by Trump. He is forcing the MSM networks, who were all set to spend a day attacking the Trump admin for following the precedent set by previous admins, into either changing their programming or quietly applauding Trump’s EO.
It should be very hard for the MSM to go on TV today and give the POTUS kudos for giving them exactly what they were so worked up about. And it changes nothing, except that it keeps families together which in my book is a good thing.
He would do well to have a preamble that says that he is reversing the policies of his predecessors Klintoon, Bush II and obummer and cite the case of reno vs flores (US 292) 1992 that set the precedent.
