Sometimes a reporter has insight, brilliant insight. And our media could be so talented, but their prejudices control them.
And, somewhat, I do blame Fox News. While they did go to the right in the early days to capture an unrepresented audience, they also brought the “flash” to media (car chases, murder trials, women in short skirts, flashy sets).
And we bought it.
But the ingrained prejudices coming out of our journalism schools has returned even to Fox. I think they still seem to try to be “Fair and Balanced” or centrist (I haven’t watched in years, but what I read on FR...), they seem to let that “slip” show more and more.
If I recall correctly, Fox News moved sharply left after Rupert Murdoch got his hand slapped in Britain for some reason I cannot recall anymore. I forget why he got into trouble, but Britain dropped whatever prosecution or sanctions tey threatened him with, and in exchange Itisobvious he moved FoxNews way to the left. It was patently obious, like somebody flipped a switch. fox News has never been conservative since, and continue to add more liberal hosts.
That sai, Fox News is STILL one of the the only places onTV where you can get any conservative news or opinion, although One America News does a great job of it too. OAN has many more conservative news stories, since Fos News no longer has any news except for Bret Baier’s hour. Fox News is now almost exclusively a tabloid opinion network. One America News gives you actual news, not opinion.
