ROD ROSENSTEIN, CULT HERO
Powerline ^ | June 14,2018 | PAUL MIRENGOFF

Posted on 06/14/2018 8:06:20 AM PDT by Hojczyk

Rosenstein doesn’t want documents produced that will embarrass the DOJ. He’s playing bulldog, the way an aggressive lawyer in private practice would behave in response to a document request. He’s treating Congress as an adversary — as a threat to the cult.

Loyalty to an agency or department one works for is an admirable quality up to a point. When one becomes a leader of the department, appointed by the president, the equation changes some, or should.

We should still want agency heads to have some loyalty to the agency. Otherwise, morale will dip and the agency may become a punching bag.

But the loyalty of a cabinet member (or a deputy who assumes the role of cabinet member for some purposes, as Rosenstein has done) should not be primarily to the agency. Mike Pompeo’s main loyalty should not be to the State Department, qua department. It should be to the interests of the U.S. and the policies the president has decided best advance them. Scott Pruitt’s main loyalty should not be to the EPA, qua agency. It should be to enforcing the environmental laws of the U.S. as written by Congress.

Rosenstein’s primary loyalty should not be to the Department of Justice, qua institution. It should be to justice and to the law. These interests are not served by laboring under a conflict of interest, by resisting lawful subpoenas issued by Congress, and by threa

This is wrong. We want the agency head to have loyalty to the constitution, the laws and the president. Every US federal agency is infested with the rot we say at DOJ/FBI. Every single one. Morale should dip and they should become punching bags until they are eliminated or where necessary reformed to do a meaningful job for the public good.

They have nothing to fear. Gofund will cover them financially and there are enough liberal judges to keep them safe.

I am not sure how long ago the ‘J’ in DOJ changed to mean JUST-US. It was certainly apparent during the Clinton and Obama Admins. Probably a bit underground during the GWB years. We need to get the National Agencies working for US, not the sleazy ‘Corp de Just-Us’, that is turning our Laws on their heads.

Trump may need to step in and end this nonsense.
DOJ is not responding to Congressial Oversight.
And has been obstructing.
This obstruction has gone on for way too long.
Trump needs to step up and do the job Sessions
and Wray refuse to do.

His head should roll. Period. Subverting the constitution by blocking the transparency of our US government is easily a firing offense. Maybe not in the private sector but for sure in the public sector.

It is deeper than him just wanting to “protect” the DOJ! I suspect much much deeper and much more than that is being hidden...maybe to nobama????

Trumps need an EO to release ANY and ALL docs without redaction that congress wants in regards to this sh*t and get it past him. That will surely cover rosensh*t with sh*t enough to fire by someone and then remove the dead weight and dirty head of the whole mess sessions....what a letdown he has been!

“When one becomes a leader of the department, appointed by the president, the equation changes some, or should.”

Well, there’s your problem. Rosenstein was never appointed by the President to be the leader of the department. He and his cronies simply amassed that power unto themselves through intrigue.

Is this Rosenstein guy disloyal to President Trump. That’s my bottom line and I’m very suspicious.

Loyalty in private sector okay. Loyalty in public sector not okay.

They take an Oath, and they work for us, not their Alphabet Swamp.
