The coach for the Republican congressional baseball team asked President Trump to attend the annual game on Thursday, the anniversary of last year's shooting that wounded Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) and several others.
"I asked him to come, I guess it was last week, I was over at the Oval Office. He said, 'I'll be there,'" Rep. Roger Williams (R-Texas) told The Associated Press.
Last June, a gunman attacked GOP lawmakers as they practiced for the annual charity game. Scalise was badly wounded and underwent multiple surgeries as part of his recovery.

Too bad these do-nothing politicians, who love playing baseball, don’t put as much time into getting the nation’s work done. Now we have to pay for a small army of security to watch their asses. Trump shouldn’t waste his time. Actually I wouldn’t mind seeing Schumer knocked on his ass from a high hard one.
Make sure there’s security against other Democrats who want to kill Republicans, just like the Democrat Bernie Sanders supporter, James T. Hodgkinson (Democrat) who tried to kill Republicans last year.

The real story here is how the media has buried all memory of last year’s shooting. After all, it was just Republicans that got shot.
