Sanders thanks Rodman for being ‘helpful’ in North Korea

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders thanked Dennis Rodman for his “positive” comments and being “helpful” in bringing President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un together.

“The president had seen some of your comments over the last several days,” Sanders can be heard telling Rodman on speakerphone in a video of the conversation obtained by Vice News on HBO.

“He just wanted me to reach out and thank you for some of the positive things you said and appreciate you being helpful in this process.”

Sanders made the phone call to Rodman on Monday while both were in Singapore for Trump’s summit with Kim.

Rodman — who referred to Sanders as “Trump’s secretary” in a teary CNN interview — thanked the senior White House official and asked for a presidential shout out.

“When you see Donald next time can Donald say hi to me and say, ‘Dennis, I would love to shake your hand,'” Rodman said while laughing.

I’ll pass that on,” Sanders said. “Today may be a little crazy but we’ll try and do something when we get back to the states.”

Rodman, who called Trump’s press secretary “honey” twice during the call, was enthusiastic about her suggestion that the day would be “a good one for everyone.”

It is doing better and will do even better when Trump publicly addresses Rodman.

Was this necessary to include in the story? Or was it just a convenient dig at Sanders?

NK won’t agree to anything without approval from their puppet masters, Russia and China.

North Korea nuclear crisis: Putin calls sanctions useless

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said pursuing further sanctions against North Korea is “useless”, saying “they’d rather eat grass than give up their nuclear programme”.

The US said on Monday it would table a new UN resolution on tougher sanctions in the wake of the latest test of a nuclear bomb by the North on Sunday.

Mr Putin also said that the ramping up of “military hysteria” could lead to global catastrophe.

He said diplomacy was the only answer.

China, the North’s main ally, has also called for a return to negotiations. ...”

LOL — Rodman, while being somewhat crazy and odd, is kind of a sweet well-meaning guy.

His spouse is equally crazy and odd.

Rodman has always been a bit of a goofball (sometimes more than a bit), but he’s always seemed like a good guy to me.

Up until I read that, I was under the impression Dennis got 2 calls. One from Trump's secretary, and this one from his Press Secretary. Trump has more than one secretary, like Mad Dog for example.

This deal was made well before Singapore happened and was primarily with China and Russia. Donald Trump really isn’t stupid.

It was more a dig at Dennis Rodman and the character he is, IMO.

If you saw him on The Apprentice and his interactions with Donald Trump back then, you'd know exactly what the "character" reference is.

Don’t read too much into it - says more about Rodman’s lack of grasp than anything else.

I think Rodman may end up with a Presidential Medal of Freedom - the highest award a civilian can receive from the US Government.
I think this for two reasons:

1. He may actually deserve it, depending on how things go.

2. You know who else has a Presidential Medal of Freedom? Robert De Niro. Got it from Obama in 2016. Can you think of anything that would drive the media crazier than having to report on Trump placing the Medal around the neck of a black NBA star who’s wearing a red MAGA hat? They would go nuttier than squirrel droppings.
