The part of the Deep State that is in control of the CIA (and DOJ, FBI, State department, and other places in the government) has the power. Trump is finding them and removing them and/or removing their power.

I expect to see some indictments soon. Eventually I expect Trump to tell us what’s been going on.

Not sure I can locate the URL now, but I analyzed a NK propaganda video showing Mount MantapSan from a distance -- "shaking" from the effects of their biggest nukeshot. The most scary thing was watching the (mostly-military) audience's programmed, robot-like reactions to the (obviously fake) camera-shake visual effects, etc. Every second of audience facial expressions, etc, was obviously pre-programmed and rehearsed!

That is the only sort of "reality" the vast majority of North Koreans ever see.

I can virtually guarantee that there are probably fewer than a thousand of them who have seen -- or would recognize -- that satview of the half-dark peninsula at night -- and be able to comprehend its import...

Like you, I'm certainly no fan of the Kim dynasty. However, at this point, I see KJU as the most effective "key" we can turn to effect our goal of having the NK people learn that they no longer need a leader/deity figure.

Just based on the examples you gave -- can you think of a more efficient way of effecting change than to change the mind-set of the one whom everyone follows unquestioningly? (in psy-ops terms, Kim's a "high-gain input point".)

There will come a time when KJU is no longer useful to us. When that point is reached, the NK people will be enlightened enough to deal with him themselves...

But, as you say -- that time will not come quickly...

Generally, please keep in mind that you [we] have been privy to information (like destruction of the Clowns' hold over NK) that even most FReepers haven't seen (or refuse to see).

The US is nowhere nearly as numbingly brainwashed as NK -- but the DSMSM is doing an effective job of blocking the truth and twisting it to nefarious ends.

Make no mistake -- Trump (and we) face a massive job of reversing the effects of continuous propagandizing -- even in this "most enlightened" nation.

It's an interesting comparison.

Part of the difference is the times we live in.

Hitler didn't have the capacity to threaten millions of American lives within an hour. and we were not technically (still) at war with Germany in 1938.

The one thing going for us is that KJU spent his youth being educated in Europe.
He KNOWS what life is like outside NK.
He KNOWS how the average European lives.
He KNOWS that his country is ass backwards and losing ground.
He has also been to China and knows how much better life is there.
Having the summit in Singapore didn’t hurt either.
An Asian country that is a financial tiger.

KJU knows he has the short end of the stick because the only way forward is with an educated populace.
An educated populace also questions the status quo.
An educated populace also overthrows dictators.

KJU has done some things differently.
His wife often appears with him in public, something his dad or grandad didn’t allow.

His dad ruled over a country that endured a self induced famine that devastated the lower class. KJU has paid lip service to improving life for the lower class but still pushed massive amounts of money into the nuclear program.
I really think KJU sees the nuclear program as his only out.
Not using them to threaten the world so much as to get maximum benefits for giving up nukes.
I could be wrong.

I have seen the talking heads go ape crazy because by having a summit with KJU President Trump elevated him to equal status.
Those idiots either don’t know or care that KJU HAD to be seen as an equal by his own people for anything to come of it.
They don’t understand the Asian mind in the least.

If Kim had come to the table seemingly inferior to President Trump it would have been catastrophic for him at home. Possibly inviting a military coup.
Giving Kim equal status was a giveaway President Trump saw a mile away.

I am cautiously optimistic at this point.

I lived in Japan -- and fully understand the import of "Face".

As soon as KJU took the personal, unscripted step of symbolically inviting his SK counterpart into the DPRK, I knew that he had made a personal ("Face") commitment to serious change.

Trump absolutely did the right thing by treating Kim with "Face-saving" respect. And by handing him tools (exposure of his entourage to glittering Singapore -- plus the "Dark-to-Light" video) to begin the re-education and re-indoctrination of his "hard-core" cadre.

It definitely has not escaped his "hard core" that their "Dear Leader" has -- before the entire world -- publicly committed himself and his country to unprecedented openness and progress.

Now, they're "stuck"!

To oppose Kim and "retreat from the Light" now, would be an unacceptable "Loss of Face" for their entire nation!!

I hadn’t considered that!
As Supreme Leader of the North he has committed the entire country!
NK HAS to move forward now, even if slowly which is probably best.

One must wonder if KJU had this in mind the whole time.
He offed any potential heir issues, did away with hardliners who had flourished under his dad, promoted military leaders who owe their positions to him, showing the world NK IS a military threat, going toe to toe verbally with President Trump then allowing NK athletes to compete with SK athletes under a common flag, meeting the SK leader at Panmunjon and finally having a face to face with President Trump.
KJU might not be the dullard that some people make him out to be.

Of course all this would have been for nothing with someone other than Donald Trump as President.
I can’t even imagine the mess the Kenyan would have made of this.

If ANYTHING positive comes from these first moves Donald Trump will have solidified his place in history.

Ronald Reagan was the right man at the right place at the right time to drive a stake into the heart of the USSR.

Donald Trump is the right man at the right place at the right time to peacefully bring NK into the 21st century.
And his only helper is KJU.

So NK is showing President Trump as the Reasonable Statesman while keeping a villain or two.
No problem as long as the top two guys know what’s going on.

A neighbor of mine, long dead now, was stationed in Japan as part of the occupation.

His squad found a kid that would come by to shine their boots, polish their brass and do other odd jobs. They paid him daily as he finished.
On the fourth day they faced an irate Japanese man, the kids father.

Fortunately they had an old China hand as their sergeant. Between broken Japanese, pigden Chinese and hand gestures he figured out the problem.
The squad was paying the kid more for two days of polish and shine than the father was earning in a week! That caused pop to lose serious face with the family and neighbors.

The sarge worked out a deal where the squad would drop off boots and brass at the mans home. He also worked out a deal for the guys to drop off their laundry for washing. They paid the man as they picked up their items.

The troops got their boots shined, brass polished and uniforms washed and were happy.
The Japanese man started a cottage business, was paid and GAINED face with the family and neighbors.
Everyone was happy.

That story was my introduction to the Asian concept of face and I’ve never forgotten it.
