YES, mandatory eVerify for CURRENT and FUTURE workers. Must include temporary, part-time, full-time, and permanent. If you are going to pay someone to work, you must check first. Give companies 90-120 days to check their current workers.

If that could be implemented, imagine the result of millions of illegal aliens being removed from their jobs? Figure another couple months for them to give up on the US and go home. Short of the courts undermining it, within a year we'd see a big change.

What would be the “means” and “ends” in this case, and what’s this about unconstitutionality and fascism.

Exactly. But too simple to work. Still hopeful we are getting closer to mandating it. It must be applied to CURRENT as well as FUTURE. Otherwise, illegals keep working, never quit despite whatever treatment they receive. Bet employers will try to compromise and say ok for future and for permanent workers to minimize who gets checked. Needs to be for ALL workers.

“Once again we see that simply enforcing the existing laws has been actively ignored for quite some number of years and Administrations.”

Worth repeating. Pray for our President’s safety.

Thank you for the link in your #12.

Local lawsuits against employers of illegals by damaged citizens would be extremely helpful; note that the author of the article stipulates practical availability of such remedy would depend on enforcement of E-Verify. With E-V in place the remedy could then be expected to produce dramatic results.

It is unconstitutional to do the latter - perform house to house searches.

It is fascism when the government gets between two people entering into some sort of service contract. Textbook fascism is the minimum wage. It’s none of the governments business who you hire or how much you pay them.

Introduce a bill that would E-verify all purchases in every store. If someone is here illegally, then they would not be able to buy anything, including groceries. Illegals would self deport once they are not able to get any food or water.

You are right that the I-9 system has been in place for almost 40 years. It is too easy to use easily available false documents to beat that system. Even a school ID with a picture can count as partial verification.
What would be effective, I think, is using the I-9 to track the use of false Social Security numbers. Immigrants use numbers that other people give them, resulting in Social Security taxes being paid from multiple, geographically separate locations under the same number. It would be child’s play to follow up on those employees who use repeated numbers. But currently, the Social Security administration just keeps those erroneous payments and, apparently, says nothing to immigration enforcement agencies. It helps their budget, I guess.

This is exactly what we need.

If we could pass laws that prohibit banks from conducting business with people here illegally, then self-deportation would become a reality.

Same with cars, car insurance, driver’s licenses.

Same with renting or buying a home / apartment.

Same with public education.

I hope this is implemented and rigorously enforced. Illegal competition in the home improvement industry has been killing my family’s fortunes for years and years.

some people still pay in cash. store owners would have to ask them their name etc for cash purchase? that would be wrong.

Fascism is over-regulation of business and people’s lives in general.

Child labor laws
minimum wage
regulating number of work hours.
regulating wages by sex or race.
regulating how much water your toilet needs to flush.
Outlawing incandescent light bulbs
CAFE standards
Requiring a permit to clear blackberries
Requiring a permit to collect rain water
Regulating who you can and can’t hire
etc.

...the E-Verify system that requires employers to hire only legal U.S. workers or face a firing squad.

Oh, well, old guys have dreams too.

So if my wife is walking the dog and the police ask to see her ID, she’s to be deported? Looks like a poison pill to me.

Hmm.. maybe my English isn't what it used to be. Which part of this did I misinterpret? You can read the entire regulation a the link.

https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/about-form-i-9/statutes-and-regulations

Statutes and Regulations

Form I-9 Federal Statutes and Regulations

Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, requirements come out of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA). IRCA prohibits employers from hiring and employing an individual for employment in the U.S. knowing that the individual is not authorized with respect to such employment. Employers also are prohibited from continuing to employ an individual knowing that he or she is unauthorized for employment. This law also prohibits employers from hiring any individual, including a U.S. citizen, for employment in the U.S. without verifying his or her identity and employment authorization on Form I-9.

And you equate those things with requiring businesses to not break our immigration laws by hiring illegals?

“The former [e-verify] is fascism.

is it “fascism” to require driver licenses?

is it “fascism” to require vehicle licenses?

is it “fascism” to require photo ID to get on an airplane?

is it “fascism” to require photo ID to vote?

is it “fascism” to require employers to require that workers provide social security numbers in order that Fed income tax be withheld and paid to the FedGov?

is it “fascism” to require verification of citizenship to register to vote?

if not, then why is requiring employers to use e-verify “fascism”?

if so, then what is your definition of “fascism”?
