This is a new development - the use of Iranian and other troops wearing Syrian uniforms deployed as several Syrian armored armies - this to maintain plausible deniability in the US_Russian military talks going on about the Syrian/Israeli Golan situation. Iranian troops are no longer separate.

Here is another report of that new development:
They report going so far as to give the soldiers identity papers in the names of dead Syrians. I guess that Assad could grant them citizenship with the stroke of a pen.
The Iranians are quite slick - they need to be eradicated from the roots, through regime change. In the mean time, I’d think that you have to just identify the Iranians and their surrogates, and kill them - regardless of the disguises they adopt.
