The prime ministers of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia voiced their support for building a permanent US military base in Poland at a joint press conference with Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz in Tallinn on Monday.

"From the Estonian point of view, the presence of US troops in Poland and the Baltic states is very important," said Estonia’s Ratas, as quoted by Polish radio's IAR news agency.

Poland’s Czaputowicz told the news conference that the presence of US troops in the region was a key deterrent, according to IAR.

He added: “We want to create the maximum conditions for the United States to be able to function on a constant and permanent basis here.”

Amid fears of Russian aggression following Moscow's annexation of the Crimea region of Ukraine in 2014, NATO decided at a Warsaw summit in July 2016 to deploy four rotating multinational battalions to Poland and the three Baltic states.

Poland is paying while Germany can’t bother making NATO payments.

So we pack up from Germany and move to Poland.

No net add of US forces will be supported by the American people. In fact the majority want US forces to come home.

Bad plan.

Would be like a Russian base in Mexico.

“Would be like a Russian base in Mexico.”
**************
You mean like the Russian base in Cuba that has been there since the 60’s?

Britain’s guarantee to Poland destroyed Europe.

Let’s not make the same mistake.

Poland is a member of NATO. As is Romania, where we have a base. So what’s the problem with have a base in Poland, other than Russia is flexing its muscles.

Russia wants NOTHING to do with Poland. It’s not 1938.

Excuse me?

Josef Stalin and Adolf Hitler made a pact which led to World War II. Yes their *alliance* and their psychotic quest for Poland. Molotov-Ribbentrop agreement.

The Nazis and Red Army reverted back “enemies” soon after but they are moral equivalents. Poland understands this to this day. Apparently you don’t, and have instead chosen to sip the Putin-revision kool-aid. And like Franklin Roosevelt, refer to Josef Stalin as Uncle Joe.

But ok blame England for wanting to protect Poland.

Apparently you know nothing of Putin or modern Russia to suggest such a thing as pathetic. It’s Putin that can’t get over World War II and their attempts to make a hero out of Stalin. And Russians are in PTSD mode from 1991 and the collapse of USSR.

Look at how Russia threatens Poland just for wanting to remove Soviet propaganda statues and monuments:

You misunderstand me.

In a conventional conflict, Poland would would Russia VERY deeply. It’s not 1938.
