Union power has been broken in Wisconsin and Michigan. And surprise surprise, they now vote republican.

Holy sh!t. I mean, Holy sh!t. I have been railing against the abomination that is Davis-Bacon for years. Not a sexy issue, but it is one massive sodomy to the taxpayers of America. I sure as hell hope this catches on.

Hard core, liberal Michigan union construction workers are undoubtedly having apoplectic seizures tonight.

If only they would do this in the state of Washington...we might actually get a North South Freeway in eastern Washington...

union power broken in WI and Michigan-—they vote Republican....
I am in Michigan and this is true. My home county was Macomb where the Reagan Democrat movement began nationally. The union bosses were always prissy liberals and the rank and file were split. Most deeply resented flag burners, hippies,AntiAmerican types and having to pay part of millions of dollars in union dues to the Democrats no matter what they stood for (anti gun legislation,NAFTA,Bill & Hillary, diversity, aff.action hiring and promotion, etc.). They quietly voted GOP and are now strongly for Trump but can’t usually say so.
A secret I am going to tell you:
Many white union members are strongly anti-black at least politically. They are not at the BLM,Sharpton or Jesse Jackson rallies with the union leaders. They resent the black union leaders stealing money from dues shown in recent court cases and convictions. Don’t tell anybody I told you. It’s a secret.
Idea for a pollster: ask by racial breakdown for attitudes of union rank and file on topics and candidates.

Gov. Rick Snyder, who supports the prevailing wage law,
Snyder is a Republican. When Trump held his rally here last month he was nowhere to be found. I am still amazed we became a right to work state.

I am of the opinion that prevailing wage plus 10% should be applied to every visa position (HB1 HB2, any visa position)

Google Nancy Johnson, UAW, bargaining, bribery............
I know her personally, she was a semi attractive black gal at my plant, The Budd Company, who due to insider influence, was transferred to Solidarity House and became a part of their union bargaining committee with Chrysler.......

I am still amazed we became a right to work state. If the SEIU had not BADLY overplayed it's hand in regards to unionizing unpaid home health care workers it might not have happened.
But when you take money meant for the care of the disabled and indigent people get mad.

This repeal bill comes just before another major defeat for unions: Janus v. AFSCME. That case will overrule a major victory for Michigan unions, Abood v. Detroit Board of Education, a decision which has allowed public-sector unions to rob non-union members since 1977.

Gov. Rick Snyder, who supports the prevailing wage law,
The way this reads, it’s impossible to understand where Snyder really stands. Is he for retaining “prevailing wage laws,” or does he support this change? Can a Michigan FReeper clear this up?
To: Sasparilla
That was Stealthy. I never heard anything about the possibility of it happening.

Not so much as you might think.
Unlike members of labor unions, members of trade unions are skilled. While unionized construction workers generally make more than non-union workers, on complex projects, they tend to be more highly skilled and, therefore, worth it.
What a “prevailing wage” law does, at least in part, is
guarantee that unskilled labor, on chickensh*t projects get paid union scale without having to learn a skilled trade.

He is squishy GOP. However when he misteps if you smack him firmly enough on the nose with a rolled up newspaper and shout, “NO! Bad Governor!” he is capable of learning. Much better then Mrs. Mulhern was.
