Shocked that Winneabagel still is in existence.
Thought they went under during one of the big downturns and gas price spikes. RVs were going unwanted new or used.
Chris-Craft makes one fine boat. Expensive, but fine.
Are the mahogany planked boats still being built? If yes, they are indeed fine boats. In fact, there is a strong market for the old classics.
Mergers and acquisitions are a sign of a strong economy...almost none in past 8 yrs prior to PDJT.
It’s a good thing you don’t run a company then. This makes sense. Both brands have weight in their respective markets and tying them together will expand the customer base for each.
The down side is that yes, there will be layoffs of office personnel where functions overlap, which is sad.
Re: mahogany boats:
No, but they build all fiberglass boats (no wood stringers) that look like the old wood boats. They are real eye catching boats.

Whenever I come across "lifestyle" used to describe something, I immediately prepare to be disgusted, robbed/taxed, to hide my children.
having "diverse" in there isn't helping either
Amen
But it was so cheap!
Chriscraft?
That is akin to buying the rights to manufacture Nash autos

Yeh, out of curiosity I went to their website to see what their product mix is. And, youre right, fiberglass hulls with some wood trim. Btw, full disclosure; I was incorrect when stated mahagony. Actually teak is whats used. Side note; there are custom builders that make the old-school retro wooden boats, barrel backs and such. But, theyre uber expensive.
Yes, there are several on Lake George. You see them cruising us and down the Lake. As for Chris Craft, it has had so many iterations as a company. I hope the new owners keep this one. The boats are high quality and a pleasure to drive and ride in. They are out of my price range new and a stretch used.
RV demand has been huge the last 10 years. Even during the recession there was a lot of demand for the manufactures in Idaho for the oil boom areas. People were buying them and living in them in ND, MT , Alberta, etc.
Yes there are, as well as the brand new version from another manufacturer, all very expensive.
Odd, then, that the "Born Free" line recently disappeared.
Christopher Craft Smith would approve. Christopher Craft Smith was the founder of Chris Craft...Two iconic brands teaming up...
I must be a dinosaur.
the boards of directors of both companies must have been booted from the A list parties they attend, guess they don’t make enough money.
Their solution, merge two companies that have nothing in common.
as an aside:
When I see a commercial, my instinctive response is not to buy whatever the product is.
Why, you ask? Those products that I purchase, I have purchased for years. Having some childish commercial try to entice me to buy something is truly insulting.
Grown adults should possess more self-control than to be swayed by some stupid TV commercial. we will see a Winnebago hauling a pontoon boat in some ridiculous tv spot that only an idiot would believe.
Winnebago makes apartments on wheels, Chriscraft makes party boats that are utterly useless in a practical sense.
neither of these products are for people who enjoy the outdoors. because neither product can be transported to the true outdoors, IMO
