Here's my take on Brennan: anybody that so frequently quotes Cicero will also know his Machiavelli inside and out.

This whole think stinks like a set-up from the first day.

The neanderthal Brennan started this. He got CIA contacts to begin a whispering campaign, and provided the meetings with Halper, etc... to check-off the boxes for an FBI investigation and phony FISA warrants.
