There used to be an urban legend about the Russians planting suitcase size nukes in the DC area. I’m pretty sure this was pure BS. Why would they blow up DC and do the rest of us a favor?

Agreed. So-called suitcase nukes are larger and heavier than what would fit and be carried in a typical suitcase. I have long guessed that the suitcase nuke and dirty bomb hoaxes were perpetrated to distract us from the real nuclear weapons buildups happening in bigger commie/fascist nations.

Big government spending on civilian government pay packages and pork to the states is far more popular than military spending. Politicians and their more influential constituents have been intending to pass the buck on needed defense work, until we get hit. Notices their concerns in recent years about luxury private bunker complexes, overpopulation, resources, etc.
