- South Korean President Moon Jae-in could make a trip to Singapore for a three-way summit with his U.S. and North Korean counterparts next month, depending on the outcome of ongoing discussions between Washington and Pyongyang, a ranking government official here said Monday.

A three-way summit was originally proposed by Moon and the North Korean leader when they held their first-ever meeting at the border village of Panmunjom on April 27.

The trip, if made, will likely be made around June 12 when U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un are scheduled to hold their bilateral summit, the official from Seoul's presidential office Cheong Wa Dae said.

"The discussions are just getting started, so we are still waiting to see how they come out, but depending on their outcome, the president could join President Trump and Chairman Kim in Singapore,"

Moon and Un will conspire to simply agree to have the USA exit South Korea? That’s going to cast out PDJT?

This is about to get interesting.

Makes sense....This is about more than the nukes and delivery systems....This is about ending a 65 year old war.

Who ever dreamed that east and west Germany would become one?

Who ever dreamed that "tear down this wall" would happen?

I’m quite sure the majority of South Koreans are anti-American occupation and quite Leftist in their views.

The existence of the North Korean state has kept them much closer to us than they would otherwise desire. I mean, they can see what’s happening economically and militarily in China - they would become communists themselves tomorrow as long as they didn’t have to eat grass and worship Little Rocket Man.

This Korea summit involves five parties intimately - China, the DPRK, South Korea, Taiwan, and the US. Four of them have to get something for it to work, and one has to be the big loser.

What makes it interesting is that we don’t know yet who is who.

I suspect the big winners are the US and China, China gets a united and friendly Korea, the Kims get to live, we get our troops out and an end to the Iran-Nork nuclear cooperation, with a Nobel Peace Prize for Trump and more time with his family for Robert Mueller, and Taiwan - Taiwan is the designated loser, because the US will withdraw the “line of forward defense” promulgated by Dean Acheson in 1950 from Taiwan and we will accept reunification.

Mostly the talks will center on a united Korea and on the role Moon will play in the Kim government.

Does this deal really get done without China at the table?

I really don’t see what China (or) Taiwan have to do with this, actually.

This is about Korea.

Korea.

Yes, and who could believe that an East German Commie would end up in charge of a united Germany? I sure hope that model in not in the future for the Koreas.

These talks need to be about 1 thing only-destroying North Korea’s nuclear weapons program. All the frilly stuff can be handled later.

North Korea does absolutely nothing unless China approves. That’s what China has to do with this.

China had Kim in Beijing for three days before the summit was agreed to, explaining to him the facts of life.

He is meeting with Trump because Xi told him to, and he will say what Xi told him to say.

We want out of Korea, Mueller and Rosenstein fired, Clinton and Jarrett arrested, 58 GOP Senators in November, and Trump re-elected. The Nork generals want to live, and to be on the board of directors of Samsung and Hyundai. Kim wants to retire with his fortune intact, and never to be ronery again. The South Koreans want their nation unified, aligned with China, and semi-hostile to Japan. And the Chinese want Taiwan.

This is not at all complicated.

We have several south Koreans in our area and they've been here for many years. They are NOT anti-American in any way and neither are their relatives back in Korea.

It's our presence that gave South Korea the means of their stability and wealth. They have good work ethics.

Granted, I cannot know enough SoKos to get a national view. But, I work with perhaps 30 families in our ex-pat group. EACH family is strongly pro-USA in SoKo, they are quite conservative, and VERY patriotic.

Granted, small polling group, but they love the USA and Americans.

It does not matter who attends the summit. The summit is merely the public presentation of the deal that was made.

I think the attitude about the US from the South is generational. They, as we do, have a millennial generation that leans very socialist.

Having worked with a lot of ROKs, I’d wager that Moon would not be able to take the South down the road that sunk the North...

Moon is a dedicated socialist and a believer in the Juche cult; they worships the Kims as gods. It is the subject.

If unification takes place it will be under Kim; Moon will be his puppet. Korea will then become a closed state under Kim rule; Japan will begin a major military build up and acquire nuclear weapons.
