MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- A billboard along I-70 is raising eyebrows - and questions.
The sign along eastbound I-70 near Junction City reads, "Manhattan is the closest thing to communism."
A notation at the bottom states the sign is paid for by the Ford family. Public records show the billboard is owned by Ron Ford.

"I think were not communist here in Manhattan and we are representing Democracy..."
Manhattans Assistant City Manager really isn't sure...

By the Ford’s what? Their grandpappy? Their cousin? their money?
(Seriously, though, that Left Wing collection of Kansas goofballs is an embarrassment to Flyover Country.)

While I realize that Manhattan, Kansas has a state university, I think this statement is more than a little over the top considering there are places like Bezerkeley and the Ivy Leagues and even their sister state university right down the road in Lawrence.
Now, if they were to add the qualifier "in central Kansas", it might be a true statement. Still, Trump won the county which is home of KSU 46% to 43.5% to Hillary, marginal for sure considering the state margin of 56.2% to 35.7%, but still a win.

"The sign along eastbound I-70 near Junction City reads, "Manhattan is the closest thing to communism.""Reporter Ann Olamiju is incompetent. The sign actually says
"Manhatten: The next best thing to communism."
The photo is right there in the article on their site.

“Manhattan is the closest thing to communism.”
But what if “communism” is the name of a coffee shop just right outside the city limits?

Since we’re on the subject of signage, I think all welcome signs to the state of NY oughta say this: “Welcome to New York State. Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.”

If I won the lottery, I’d own a bunch of programmable billboards on highways going into Democrat infested metropoles. Bedlam would ensue.

Not quite as bad as those three billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri.

While I realize that Manhattan, Kansas has a state university, I think this statement is more than a little over the top considering there are places like Bezerkeley and the Ivy Leagues and even their sister state university right down the road in Lawrence. Manhattan also butts up against Fort Riley and has a large military population.

Sort of like Lawrence and Ft. Leavenworth? Fort Leavenworth is about 40 miles from Lawrence. Fort Riley is about five miles from Manhattan.
