Moon Jae-in and Kim Jong Un hold surprise second summit: Blue House
Leaders met at Panmunjom for the second time, Seoul says, with results to be announced tomorrow
South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un held a surprise meeting at Panmunjom on the inter-Korean border on Saturday, according to a statement issued by the Blue House.
The meeting is the second between the two leaders, with the first having taken place at the same location and resulting in the signing of the Panmunjom Declaration.
President Moon Jae-in held a second summit meeting with Kim Jong Un, chairman of the State Affairs Commission at Tongilgak in the north of Panmunjom from 3 pm to 5 pm on March 26, the statement, issued by Presidential Senior Secretary for Public Relations Yoon Young-chan, reads.
The two leaders exchanged their opinions candidly for the implementation of the Panmunjom Declaration of April 27 and the successful hosting of the North-U.S. Summit, it continued. The results of the talks will be announced by the president at 10 am tomorrow.

President Moon Jae-in held a second summit meeting with Kim Jong Un...from 3 pm to 5 pm on March 26”
```````````````````````````````````````````````````
Apparently that’s a typo, as the article now reads “from 3 pm to 5 pm on May 26” [Korea being 13 hours ahead of Eastern Daylight Time]
Behind the scenes is better for now. We don't need or want media input (interference) or people like Kerry running their mouth off.
This is and opportunity for leadership at its best....I hope.
Fox and Friends just claimed that the letter cancelling the summit was the first time Trump had communicated directly with Kim. I don’t think this is true. Months ago the President was asked if he’s talked directly with Kim and he said “yes.”
They must have been in a hurry.
Here is another report from SK's Yonhap News:
S. Korea, N. Korea hold second summit
2018/05/26 20:11
SEOUL, May 26 (Yonhap) -- The leaders of South and North Korea held a second summit, Seoul's presidential office said Saturday.
Cheong Wa Dae said South Korean President Moon Jae-in met with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un at the truce village of Panmunjom inside the demilitarized zone (DMZ) from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
"The two leaders exchanged their opinions candidly to implement the April 27 Panmunjom Declaration and to have a successful North Korea-U.S. summit," Moon's chief press secretary Yoon Young-chan said. "Due to the two sides' agreement, Moon will announce the result of today's meeting at 10 a.m. Sunday."
This is good.. they need to unify. The key for us is to not pay extortion or bribes. We only drop santions after last bomb is turned over. But this will never happen. This is a stall by Un to buy rime to plan his attack.
I am of the opinion that although he is dictator, Kim is not his own man but is controlled by the old men, both civillian and miltary.
failure to attend the meeting in Singapore and other negative responses are the old men acting
Is Kim in complete control
He has already EXECUTED so many of the old men and overturned almost all of the general officer corps that was there when he took over when Dad kicked the bucket. Its a whole new crowd. His crowd. I believe he is in fairly firm control. But only out of fear and not true loyalty.
Old men who can push Kim around are outside N. Korea. They are in Beijing.
Agreed - the old men that Kim must worry about (and listen to) are senior government officials of China starting with Xi
Everyone is focused on Kim and the Norks understandably and we all naturally romanticize the idea of unification, but Trump understands that China has to get something out of this deal in order for it to happen. I think Kim went too far off the reservation and caused the Japanese to begin talking about militarization of Japan. That is definitely NOT in the interest of China nor is it in their interest for the U.S. to increase military presence and flexing so close to China.
Kim severely overplayed his hand and Trump convinced China that he would act and it might involve trade with them. A masterful stroke.
For last several days, Trump kept pointing the finger at China as the real culprit behind recent troubles. Trade war with China is no longer just Trump's agenda. I see a wide consensus is forming in DC about trade sanction on China. This should worry Chinese.
If China still holds out, Trump could use another big stick: restore full diplomatic relation with Taiwan and reopen U.S. Embassy in Taipei.
