Giuliani says WH wants briefing on classified meeting, thinks it could end Mueller probe (Updated)
The Hill ^ | May 25, 2018 | John Bowden

Posted on 05/25/2018 4:23:31 PM PDT by jazusamo

Rudy Giuliani said Friday that the White House wants a classified briefing with the details shared with lawmakers this week on the origin of the FBI's Russia investigation, and hopes to use that information to justify ending Robert Mueller's special counsel investigation.

In an interview with The Associated Press, the former New York City mayor said that the White House wants a readout of the information presented to lawmakers, particularly on the FBI's use of Stefan Halper, an informant who contacted several members of the Trump campaign.

“If the spying was inappropriate, that means we may have an entirely illegitimate investigation,” Giuliani said of Mueller's investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

This breaking news story will be updated.

Apparently, this was the plan all along. President Trump well-knew this information for some time. That’s why he’s been escalating his attacks on the Russia Collusion Hoax over months.

When you hold the Ace of Spades and the winning hand, you call the game when all the chips are in.

This Republic is in great hands. Rudy will look to execute these last moves and utterly pulverize what’s left of Mueller’s “investigation.”

Can’t wait.

I believe you’re right about Giuliani and President Trump has faith in him.

I wouldn’t put all my eggs in that basket.

(a)
(1) Notwithstanding any other law, the President, through the Attorney General, may authorize electronic surveillance without a court order under this subchapter to acquire foreign intelligence information for periods of up to one year if the Attorney General certifies in writing under oath that—
(A) the electronic surveillance is solely directed at—
(i) the acquisition of the contents of communications transmitted by means of communications used exclusively between or among foreign powers, as defined in section 1801(a)(1), (2), or (3) of this title; or
(ii) the acquisition of technical intelligence, other than the spoken communications of individuals, from property or premises under the open and exclusive control of a foreign power, as defined in section 1801(a)(1), (2), or (3) of this title;
..............................................
(B) there is no substantial likelihood that the surveillance will acquire the contents of any communication to which a United States person is a party; and
.............................................
(C) the proposed minimization procedures with respect to such surveillance meet the definition of minimization procedures under section 1801(h) of this title; and
if the Attorney General reports such minimization procedures and any changes thereto to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence at least thirty days prior to their effective date, unless the Attorney General determines immediate action is required and notifies the committees immediately of such minimization procedures and the reason for their becoming effective immediately.
(2) An electronic surveillance authorized by this subsection may be conducted only in accordance with the Attorney General’s certification and the minimization procedures adopted by him. The Attorney General shall assess compliance with such procedures and shall report such assessments to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence under the provisions of section 1808(a) of this title.
(3) The Attorney General shall immediately transmit under seal to the court established under section 1803(a) of this title a copy of his certification. Such certification shall be maintained under security measures established by the Chief Justice with the concurrence of the Attorney General, in consultation with the Director of National Intelligence, and shall remain sealed unless—
(A) an application for a court order with respect to the surveillance is made under sections 1801(h)(4) and 1804 of this title; or
(B) the certification is necessary to determine the legality of the surveillance under section 1806(f) of this title.
(4) With respect to electronic surveillance authorized by this subsection, the Attorney General may direct a specified communication common carrier to—
(A) furnish all information, facilities, or technical assistance necessary to accomplish the electronic surveillance in such a manner as will protect its secrecy and produce a minimum of interference with the services that such carrier is providing its customers; and
(B) maintain under security procedures approved by the Attorney General and the Director of National Intelligence any records concerning the surveillance or the aid furnished which such carrier wishes to retain.
The Government shall compensate, at the prevailing rate, such carrier for furnishing such aid.
(b) Applications for a court order under this subchapter are authorized if the President has, by written authorization, empowered the Attorney General to approve applications to the court having jurisdiction under section 1803 of this title, and a judge to whom an application is made may, notwithstanding any other law, grant an order, in conformity with section 1805 of this title, approving electronic surveillance of a foreign power or an agent of a foreign power for the purpose of obtaining foreign intelligence information, except that the court shall not have jurisdiction to grant any order approving electronic surveillance directed solely as described in paragraph (1)(A) of subsection (a) unless such surveillance may involve the acquisition of communications of any United States person.

Adam Schiff has his entire career wrapped up in finding Russian collusion. Schiff went on TV 227 times to push the fable. Adam Schiff is ranking Democrat member on the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. He hired as his office IT, one of the Awan clan.....considered global spies

The Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence oversees all or part of the following executive branch departments and agencies:

Office of the Director of National Intelligence
Central Intelligence Agency
Defense Intelligence Agency
Department of Defense
Department of Energy
Department of Homeland Security
Department of Justice
Department of State
Department of Treasury
Drug Enforcement Administration
Federal Bureau of Investigation
National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency
National Reconnaissance Office
National Security Agency
Office of Naval Intelligence
Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Agency
United States Army Intelligence and Security Command
United States Coast Guard Intelligence
Marine Corps Intelligence Activity

At not time did Adam Schiff advise any of these agencies that intel they provided was being viewed....perhaps sold abroad.... by Paki operatives.

I’ll be shocked if Trump ever takes the meeting. He knows Mueller’s game is all about recording a ‘false statement’. But at the same time he can’t dismiss the possibility of a meeting unless Mueller gives him a solid pretext.

We are going to miss Schiff when he’s gone...which isn’t likely to be long now. The next bozo they get to do their Schiff will undoubtedly be smarter, better and better looking.

Why would Obama or Lynch follow the 1802 regulations, when they could do the same (warrantless) snooping without leaving a trail at the FISA Court - especially when the function of the snooping was political advantage.

The legal calculus changes when they need to legitimize the Russian hoax with a paper trail.

Rudy is not as sharp as he was. Neither am I, but I’m not in his position. I dearly love the guy for many reasons, and have critisized him as well. I just don’t see him as the guy to fix this. Maybe 5-10 years ago. Not now. Anytime you’re forced to explain what you meant 3 or more times, as he did a couple weeks back, it’s doing damage.

He’s lost his mind. When I think a person has some brains, he goes and does things like this. Trump is dealing with NoKo.. attorneys need to leave him alone.

I hear old time GPO in the attorneys who want to cooperate with mueller.... and forget about ending it with a “sit down”
