A federal district court judge on Wednesday ruled that President Trump can't block people from viewing his Twitter feed over their political views.

Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald, of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, said President Trump’s Twitter account is a public forum and blocking people who reply to his tweets with differing opinions constitutes viewpoint discrimination, which violates the First Amendment.

The court’s ruling is a major win for the Knight Foundation, which brought the lawsuit on behalf of seven people who were blocked from the @realDonaldTrump account because of opinions they expressed in reply tweets.

The left now has the right to harass you and you have no right to protect yourself.

It’s a public forum for everybody or nobody. If it is, then Twitter can’t ban or put someone in time-out.

...President Trump’s Twitter account is a public forum and blocking people who reply to his tweets with differing opinions constitutes viewpoint discrimination...

By that logic, Twitter should not be allowed to censor anyone.

Hypocrisy much?

If it stands, use the precedence against censorship of right wing views by social media companies.

That’s BS but not surprising, coming from another Clinton affirmative action Jackson appointee

The President has the right to control his speeches, PCs, and social media accounts.

Loose cannon, nasty objectors can take their trash elsewhere.

How does this ruling apply to Facebook squelching conservative news feeds?

LOL! We get censored and shadow banned, but they can stalk our President with foul language, lies and death threats. Equal justice needs to be established here.

[[Trump’s Twitter account is a public forum and blocking people who reply to his tweets with differing opinions constitutes viewpoint discrimination, which violates the First Amendment. ]]

So FB and Twitter blocking conservatives and gun owners from giving their opinions is a violation too, right judge?

Exactly- all the gun owners on youtube that were banned, conservatives on FB twitter youtube etc who were censored- should sue the crap out of those companies for violating their first amendment rights-

This judge is daft! They can’t treat realDonaldTrump differently from any other Twitter user.

I guess he also has the right to mute them...but this is balderdash.

@realdonaldtrump is a private account. He can do whatever he wants with his private account.

Judge Kangaroo will be overturned.

Watch.

FB also allows people to block non-friends from viewing their posts.

Twitter is a private company who allows the public to use its service. It has its own rules that people who sign up with Twitter have contracted with Twitter to follow, and which establish that its users must obey its rules and are likewise protected by its rules. Twitters rules allow Twitter users to deny anyone from making “tweets” to be seen on their account.

The entire association is a “private association” agreed to between Twitter and Twitter users. It is only as “open to the public” as Twitter, its rules, and its users decide, with as much as the agreement they have allows them to.

SCOTUS will undo the ruling of the judge from the court for the Southern District of New York.

What will happen if he just ignores this absurd ruling? What can this activist, anti-constitutional asscrack of a judge possibly do about it?

Nothing.

And how much money would be wasted tying up the higher courts in this manner? Trump needs to ignore the ruling. This is stupidity. I’m fed up with these turd judges single-handedly setting the course of our nation.
