I would love to know how much has been spent on AIDS research vs. Cancer research over the past 30 years.

Does anyone know?

Only to the degree that the sodomites demand to donate blood on the same unfounded basis as normal people. They've bullied the FDA this far (1 year deferral after last same-sex sexual contact.) Don't think they won't go for the whole ball of wax - no restrictions whatsoever.

That is a good point.

Especially since I understand that some places have already or are considering removing the ban on blood donations from homosexuals.

Which is about as stupid as stupid can get.

Why do I need to worry?

HIV doesn't affect me in the least.

Yep...and try as they might to deny there was a “Patient Zero” the reality is, by the time the first suspicions came in there were 400,000plus cases

And I imagine that’s a very low estimation since it didn’t take into account world populations, only USA

Yup. I know californication, for one. Wont be surprised if new york or illinois or nj, ma, co, and other hardcore lib states green light it.

Well. there is the possibility of infection by blood transfusion. All tests are only good for past knowledge, and for behavior up to a month or two prior.

That affects non-pervs, too.

Yes, but wasn’t there a recent drive to stop excluding gay men from giving blood because of “civil rights”? After all, what could go wrong?

Exactly! I was about make the same points — but you did it so well I needn’t bother.

But that’s part of my point. Ones own behavior can reduce, but not eliminate risk of HIV because you can get infected by others they non sexual means.

The perv right to donate initiative only makes it worse.

Where’s a good link on the problems people with HIV have? I once read people with HIV die 14 years early, plus have lots of neurological disorders (HAND). Can no longer find that info online.

be happy and content....that is God's wish for us....

the insane and IMO immoral drive to satisfy any imagined want is going to be the death of us...

add a few more letters to “LGBQT” and that population might make it to 5%....

Wasn’t Clinton involved in a tainted blood scam while he was governor of Arkansas? They were taking blood from inmates in the State prison. Even after aids, formerly known as GRID,(gay related immunodeficiency), was known. They sold the blood overseas.

HIV is above all else a "political disease," and as such, the facts and implications around it are distorted, if not hidden completely. So, it's not surprising that not much useful information can be found on it.

Ironically, some of the most honest information can be found at radical leftist HIV group sites, since the useful truth impinges on them most severely. One such site is poz.com. They'll even admit that the virus can remain dormant in the brain for many years, emerging to cause unpredictable damage as the individual ages. HIV-induced dementia is also a very real possibility, even with those who have their viral load "under control."

But the current political narrative is that "positive" (infected) individuals "can live just as long and healthy lives as any other folks, with a minimum commitment to take a pill a day." That's just too simplistic to be believable.

Since when is donating blood a “civil right”?

Wow, someone’s feelings were hurt.

Hurt feelings are more important that public health?????

They just cannot accept reality, which is that their behavior creates the perfect vector for a rapidly mutating fatal virus. Change the behavior idiots, it’s harming you in more ways than just exposure to disease.
