Evans would have been viable in the general election against Cagle/Kemp. Abrams is a nut and will lose big, 'blue wave' or no.
I can't help but believe she only won because Georgia is over 30% black, and they're mostly Democrats, so a strong majority of Democratic Party primary voters are black, and they voted for the black candidate over the safe, electable one.

I went to my senior center today, which is also a voting precinct. It’s located in a very liberal, hipster neighborhood near downtown Atlanta. It was quiet, very few people voting.
I remember how excited Dems were 4 years ago when Jimmy Carter’s grandson ran for Governor and Sam Nunn’s daughter ran for the Senate. This year was very different, a lot less yard signs and much less Dem enthusiasm.
I see what did there. Bravo and I wholeheartedly agree.
