It’s simple. They don’t believe their own information.
If they did believe lowering carbon emissions was so critical they would be demanding draconian cuts in carbon. Differnt light bulbs won’t do it. Solar panels on roofs won’t either.
To reduce carbon emissions to the level they claim is necessary, you would have to reduce the standard of living back to the 1800s. Carbon is only an excuse to pretend they are important.
IF they believed their own BS, Al Gore wouldn’t own a massive seaside mansion. Leo Dicaprio wouldn’t fly around in private jets and ride in limos. James Cameron wouldn’t own a huge estate, fly in private jets, have a bunch of 4 wheel drive and off road vehicles etc etc etc.
Obviously they’re just virtue signalling hypocrites.
At the very least they would have to give up their own houses, cars and electronics and live in an apartment near the entrance to the salt mine (salt would mined by hand). But since they are not, you are correct that they are not the least bit serious about reducing CO2. Control the masses, sure. Reduce CO2, not a chance.
