last paragraph:
“Rosenstein’s latest action thus puts Democrats in a catch-22.
They could continue supporting Rosenstein as the voice of objective reason, and thus effectively endorse the legitimacy of Trump’s concerns, or to turn against Rosenstein, which would suggest their own motives might just be partisan.”
They’ll turn on Rosenstein...in 3, 2, 1...
They could continue supporting Rosenstein as the voice of objective reason, and thus effectively endorse the legitimacy of Trumps concerns, or to turn against Rosenstein, which would suggest their own motives might just be partisan.
I think it puts Democrats "in a bind", or "between a rock and a hard place". Neither option works for them, but that doesn't mean it's a Catch 22.
Isn’t Sessions the actual AG? Or does he hold a ceremonial post like the Prince of Wales?
No catch 22. The status quo remains.
Rosenslime had to comply with a direct order from Trump. Otherwise Trump could fire him for insubordination like he did with yates.
So rosenslime delegated the mission to the IG instead of a prosecutor. It will take months to conclude and the muler witch hunt goes on.
