. The principal of a New Jersey high school has apologized for what he called "insensitive" language on tickets for the upcoming senior prom.
The Courier Post reported the Cherry Hill High School East senior prom tickets urged students to "party like it's 1776" during the event at Philadelphia's National Constitution Center.

I guess he should have written “Party like it’s 1865”.
Oh, please! Snowflakes looking for their next Victim Fix.
He should have ignored them.
Why in the world is 1776 offensive?!?! I graduated from high school in 1976, and the Bicentennial was a VERY big deal. Without exception, we were excited to be graduating in such a momentous year.
Had it been “party like it’s 1999” then it would have been “cultural appropriation” with ensuing rage.
Liberals must always be victims. In their minds.
Oh, please! Snowflakes looking for their next Victim Fix.

Bingo! Good comment.
The only true apology would be “Party like its 19984.”
The students who offend easily could stomp their boots on the faces of the other students to make up for past offenses. :-(
Exactly, what is offensive about 1776. ??
Is it not inclusive because what about students who are inspired by another year instead?
1984 :-)
Why did you post this horrible excerpt? Could you not have posted the point of this article at least?
Oh I see. You want to waste our time by clicking the link, and waiting for ads to post - waiting - waiting....
I was flipping channels last night and happened to catch Christian comedian, a Hispanic man.
He said PC is so out of control and he doesn’t know what he can and can’t say anymore, because everyone is just waiting to be offended.
His latest run-in was with the guy who trimmed his trees, who got mad at him because he referred to the guy as a tree trimmer instead of a branch manager.
Probably would have no problem with ‘party like it’s 1917’; ie. Russian (Communist) Revolution.

I could not post that , yes I excerpted too little.
My Christian high school was founded in 1976, home of the Patriots. When I visited last month, the PR lady told me they had to change the minuteman logo to a cross with a shield. Too many people were offended the minuteman wasn’t a woman or person of color. *rolling my eyes* My husband asked, “What? No one is offended by the cross?”
Some people need to grow up, and the best path to that essential outcome would be treating them like adults when they whine instead of giving in and encouraging even more pouting tantrums.
what a candy ass for apologizing. My head hurts from all this nonsense.
Id say party like its 2018 but then some may call me a presentist.
It was kinda rough on my ancestors, I can tell you that.
He said he especially wanted to apologize to black students “who I have let down by not initially recognizing the inappropriateness of this wording.”
____________
Ridiculous to apologize.
1776 happened, I am glad, some folks aren’t. Get over it or get the hell out of my country.
